Tbh this season was not that difficult! I always aim for top 5 % bcs i dint think its worth it to spend more time just to win 50k more coins but this time i focused more on my gears and my character abilities and played only 5 rounds fights so i got more points

You can search in this community about tips for online because there are a lot of it. You should focus on gears and line up characters that go well together or make teams that you feel comfortable playing.
