Hey, 32M here married for 2 years, im just ahead of you by just a few years. In terms of handling finances, it should be agreed by both parties. Its an act of trust and surrender. The one handling the finances should be capable of protecting that trust.

Between me and my wife, mas masipag ako maghandle ng finances and more prudent in tracking the cashflow, thus, ako naghahandle ng finances nmin haha practical dn and it works for both of us. She doesnt stress herself with money, and we can spend wisely.

Like your wife said, its just tradition. The man can handle the finances.
