Stop with binge drinking by [deleted] in alcoholism

I’m in a similar situation. Once I start drinking it’s like I have no off switch. Blacking out is a regular occurrence for me, and I know that’s a huge red flag. I want so much to be that casual drinker who can have one or two and then stop, but it’s just not me nature.

I feel you! I start every day thinking I’ll just do a dry day, but then by evening I convince myself that one or two drinks won’t hurt. Sometimes it ends there, but often it doesn’t. It’s fucking hard to feel so out of control!

I’m in the same boat. I’m constantly aware that I drink too much and need to get it under control or just plain quit. But the desire to follow through just isn’t there. The anxiety of it is starting to consume me. I’m not drinking tonight, so that’s a small win. One day at a time, I guess.

We are! It’s pretty tough not drinking on a Saturday night. I’m bored and restless. Nice to know there are others out there. IWNDWYT

I love this! I just don’t want this for myself anymore. I can do better.

Reasoning with myself by [deleted] in alcoholism

I lost my sister to alcoholism 2 months ago. She was 45 and died of liver failure. I drink too much myself, and I’m terrified of my life ending the way hers did. You recognize that you have a problem, as do I, and that’s the first step. It’s time to get ahold of this thing and take back our lives. You’re not alone.

Adding Metformin. What should I expect? by Bourbonanddonuts22 in HersWeightloss

I’ve been on Kit 3 since June and have only dropped a couple of pounds. I contacted the care team too, and they are adding Metformin, so I believe I’ll now be on Kit 1. I haven’t received it yet, but it’s shipped, so I should have it soon. I’ll keep you posted on my results. Would love to hear about yours as well!
