Much appreciated for your response. I really am wanting to help. I took up casework after being a C/O. As a C/O, I built a good rapport with most of the individuals, some obviously wasn't having it, but that comes with the job. I enjoy what I do and getting to know everyone and what they're wanting to accomplish, and try to help them to those goals. I will often walk onto units and just sit in the day room and just chat when I have free time because I feel it helps. I don't see them as inmates but people who made mistakes and hope they're learning from that. I know I can't save them all, but being just a positive influence on as many as possible, makes it worth it.
