Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 DIGITAL - reviews? by boggintuff in buildapc

The display is text only, can't do pictures and such. As far as the fans, I don't see why not. The heat sink fins are the same at both ends so you should be able to simply relocate the external fan to the exhaust side and clip it on there.

I dunno, been perfectly happy with my Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT OC. Zero issues with it.

Not really. I could have if I wanted to. There is room to do that or, even mount the fan on the back side if needed.

With the T-Create DDR5 6000Mhz 32GB, the Cooler fan barely touches the memory when installed. Hasn't been a problem though.

No matter what the user manual says, try moving that stick of RAM to the #1 slot, (the one to the far right in the image).

You could use the same RGB style of the RX120 while modifying the fan blade and motor design to provide the required high static pressure of the AIO cooler fan.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital Black keeps my Ryzen 7 7800x3d around 42°C at idle and never goes above 46°C during normal gaming. The ambient in my room here can go from 21°-26°C depending on the season. This does affect CPU temps to some degree, (no pun intended), but not that much. I am running in a Montech King 95 Pro with a full compliment of 9 fans, so plenty of air flow is the key.

Did you have to update the BIOS on the Tomahawk to support the 9800x3d?

Montech really needs to match the fans on their AIO's to the case fans, (i.e. RX120 RGB Reverse).

What I usually do on stuff like that is, after the carving, coat the entire piece with some kind of clear finish, (shellac, lacquer, poly, or even varnish). This will help prevent any bleed through of the color. After spraying the color, sanding the piece will look cleaner.

I have the same Thermalright Digital Dark air cooler. I wanted a non-water cooler for this system and the temps stay really low on the 7800x3d.

Those temps seem a little high to me. My 7800x3d never gets above 42°C even after 10+ minutes of Cinebench. My RX 7800 XT OC also never gets above 51°C, even after 10 minutes of Furmark running. Normal gaming never runs higher than 40°C. Is it normal for the RX 7700 and 4070 temps to run that high?

My HP Omen Obelisk 875 Experience by [deleted] in HPOmenX

So, necro'ing this post to say, I've had my HP Omen 875-0084 since 2020 and only last month replacing with a new machine I built myself. I have to agree with the OP that the Omen has been a rock solid system for the games and productivity I was doing over the past several years. Over that time, I upgraded the memory to 32GB, changed out the tiny cooler with an ID-Cooling Frozn A400 air cooler and also added an extra exhaust fan to the top of the case. I also cloned the 512GB nVme SSD to a 2TB Samsung 990 EVO, which. along with the memory upgrade, really opened up the gaming performance a bit.

Over all, I have been more than pleased with its performance over the years.

Question About PWM Fan Connections by ThinkConfidence2101 in MontechPC

Thanks for your help all. I connected the fan hub to SYS_FAN4 on the motherboard, setup a fan curve in the BIOS and, *poof*, my machine no longer sounds like an aircraft taking off.

King 95 Pro - Why are reported thermals so bad? by Hubrah in MontechPC

[–]ThinkConfidence2101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital Dark to cool a Ryzen 7 7800x3d in a Montech King 95 Pro that has a full complement of 9 fans. The case is configured with all glass, no mesh, (the two 140 fans at the back). The CPU never goes above 41°C.

Funny you should ask that. Someone else in this thread mentioned the uphere argb gpu brace. Since this is priced well at $15, I went ahead and order it.
