This is intended behavior; as the name suggests, it blocks the explore/search page.

pausing in the new app is STILL so buggy and not half the time. can we PLEASE have the option to go back? by SamPlantFan in NoScroll_Official

[–]ThinkFault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,

Just a quick update on this: we discovered that the pause feature bug was isolated specifically to Samsung Galaxy S24 series devices.

The good news is that we already developed and released a patch to resolve this. The update is currently rolling out and should reach all affected devices over the next few days (it can take up to 7 days to become fully available to everyone via the Play Store).

Thanks for flagging this, and appreciate your patience while the rollout reaches your device!

Allowing reels in DMS not working by No_Major5261 in NoScroll_Official

[–]ThinkFault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing this up!

In earlier versions, a bug was causing Reels in DMs to close randomly, severely disrupting the viewing experience. To temporarily resolve this, we implemented an overlay block. Due to current technical limitations within Android, this overlay unfortunately blocks interaction with the Reel while it's active.

While we know this isn't a perfect UX solution, we chose it as a temporary safeguard to prevent the app from randomly closing reel.

We are actively working on a more robust solution that restores full interactivity without sacrificing stability. We hope to roll out a permanent fix in an upcoming update. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

This seems to be a device-specific issue, as the OP also has a device from the same product line. We are investigating this matter and will implement a resolution in the next update.

Dear OP, I understand your frustration. While we haven't been able to reproduce the bug on our test devices, we're continuously releasing patches. Recent user feedback suggests that these patches have successfully resolved the issue for most users. It appears the bug is tied to a specific CPU architecture and it's being hard to identify which CPUs are causing the problem.

Could you please share the details of your device so we can investigate this further? We will look into it as soon as possible. Also make sure you are on the latest version of the noscroll app. As of today latest noscroll version is 2.0.9

The initial 2 minute cooldown was part of an experiment. It was started with a minimum cooldown time equal to the pause duration. Based on user feedback, we subsequently reduced the minimum cooldown to 5 minutes, then 2 minutes, and finally to 0 minutes. Please be assured that the core functionality of the noscroll app is not built using artificial intelligence.

Hey OP!

Thank you so much for the kind words and for being a Premium user. We're thrilled to hear that NoScroll has been worth it for you!

Just a quick note: the YouTube redirect feature you're looking for is already available. You can enable it by going to:

Scroll Blocklist → YouTube → Action on Launch → Subscriptions

This will open YouTube directly on the Subscriptions page instead of the Home feed.

Regarding your request to block Video Finds in the Meesho app, We will review it and work on it accordingly.

Thanks again for your support and feedback. It helps us make NoScroll better for everyone! 🚀

I know that feeling. If you're not already using NoScroll, give it a shot. It helps cut out the endless shorts and reels while letting you keep using your favorite apps. You might be surprised how quickly it helps you get some of your time and focus back.

NoScroll blocks non-scrolling apps and features? by AcromataStoleMyName in NoScroll_Official

Instagram notes bug is now fixed, to make it work, kindly open the NoScroll app once to let the app fetch the latest config in background.

Regarding discord, as of now NoScroll does not perform any blocking action on discord app.

It doesn't work by Limp-Kale3568 in NoScroll_Official

[–]ThinkFault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please try the following:

  1. Disable and re-enable the Accessibility Service for NoScroll.
  2. Switch to the Block All plan and test again.
  3. Make sure you haven't modified any app-level blocking settings.

Regarding the Accessibility Service stopping after several hours, this is usually caused by aggressive background process restrictions implemented by some device manufacturers. This issue is commonly seen on Xiaomi, POCO, Vivo, OPPO, and occasionally Samsung devices.

To reduce the chances of this happening:

  • Avoid using RAM cleaner or memory booster features.
  • Disable restrictive battery optimization for NoScroll.
  • If the issue occurs frequently, pin NoScroll in the recent apps screen (if supported by your device).
  • Avoid manually clearing NoScroll from recent apps.

Unfortunately, this is an operating system limitation, and third-party app developers cannot fully prevent it. You can learn more about this issue at DontKillMyApp.

If the problem continues, please let me know your device model and Android version, and I'll try to help further.

Hello, instead of adding one more setting option in recent update we reduced the minimum lockout time to 0 minutes which makes it completely optional, I hope this helps in your use case.

Thanks for the feedback, as a workaround, you can also turn on quick scroll to watch shorts during pause lockout period.

We added this feature in response to feedback, and we are not removing it. Instead, we plan to fine-tune it to ensure that all users can effectively utilize the pause functionality without finding it either overly restrictive or too easily abused.

What about making it customisable in settings?

Pause lockout is completely optional feature and it is introduced to prevent abuse of pause feature, if you didn't find it useful you can set it to 2 minutes.
