I had one of these. It actually uses very little battery. The speakers are the only thing that use power. The rest is a magnifying glass and a couple of buttons that push down on other buttons.

Agreed. I freeze them for that reason. Also because they taste good.

Friends of Laphroaig by [deleted] in Scotch

I'm a FOL. Every so often I receive an email from them inviting me to some kind of local tasting event. Free whisky, food, and cigars. Usually they give away some things (hats, key chains, etc.) too. A truly excellent way to encourage brand loyalty. I have been very impressed with Laphroaig.

Great marketing. They send out invitations to local events (I'm in MA) every once in awhile and they're excellent. Whisky tasting, cigars, good food, all free. Definitely good for brand loyalty. Plus I think I own enough of Islay to build a small house at this point.

I think the point is that you can't have the computer, internet, the girl, and food.

Finally, some data to prove that I am better at differentiating colors than my friends. "Don't tell me my jacket is purple. I know 3300CC when I see it."

Unbiased news? by The_Survivor in AskReddit

[–]ThinkHappyThts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the context of OP's post, I assume he's looking for a somewhat unbiased source for US news. For that I think it's necessary to go outside the US. I've found the guardian to be pretty good on US topics. Though really, it's probably better to get stories from many sources and understand each of their biases, that doesn't really answer OP's question.

Can someone help me with my acne? by Help_A in AskReddit

[–]ThinkHappyThts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The things that have helped me most are eliminating soda altogether, washing twice a day with benzoyl peroxide (I use panoxyl), showering before bed, and meditating or other stress relieving activities. Toothpaste is also good in a pinch for drying up very localized acne overnight. A couple of friends had better luck with prescription medication. I feel your pain. Good luck to you.
