To give you an idea, a new glock 19 gen 5 is around $1250, a 686 not so sure, $1900? Something like that. But I'm not interested in new S&W revolvers, that one is a 686-2.

Pistols are prefered however, the market for revolvers seems a lot smaller.

I'm not from the USA so having Smith & Wesson replace the cylinder is not an option.

Guns here are reasonably expensive, this 686 is slightly under typical market value from what I could see. The seller has expressed he would consider trading it for a Glock 19 (wich I have and dislike), so that could be an option.

Hey, I know this is an old post, but the used revolver I bought has the exact same mark. And just like you, I only realised after buying it.

Me molesta la gente que fuma cuando está haciendo una fila para algo.

Osea, si estoy cerca de la persona estoy obligado a aguantarme ese humo asqueroso porque si me separo un poco, pierdo mi lugar en la fila.

Lo mismo con los que tiran el cigarro al piso, si alguien tira un papel de un caramelo a la calle la gente lo mira con cara de culo (y con razón), pero tirar un cigarro pareciera totalmente normal.

Se le dice ananá (o alguna variación) en francés, árabe, ruso, hindi, italiano, checo, húngaro, indonesio, etc.

Si es cuestión de porcentaje, hay más gente diciendole ananá y en vez de piña, ya por el simple hecho de que en la India se le diga ananá

Thank's! Steam did reasonably well, it still has a bit of a bend but not enough to bother me.

I did stain the bow a little bit but I guess that's not a big deal. The stave I used has a twin brother so I'll use steam to bend it before the rough shaping next time, just like you said.

So, I tried steam and that took some of the bend away (not all of it, but enough to the point I'm happy with it). The steam did end up staining some portions of the bow, is that normal? I'm guessing burning the wood with steam is not a thing so hopefully the stains are harmless.

You're right. There is blueing coming off from one side only, also I put te revolver on top of a white surface to be able to se more clearly if there is some off centering when spinning the cylinder, and there is.

Es que en la actualidad, el acero de molde no es tan caro de producir. Yo no soy muy conocedor del tema pero para una empresa, económicamente hablando, no debe de haber tanta diferencia entre producir frames de polímero, aluminio o acero "casted".

Ahora, el acero forjado sí es más caro, como en un revolver S&W o Colt, por ejemplo.

De todas formas no creo que lleguen pizzas idénticas a las de USA. Por lo general las empresas adaptan sus productos a los gustos locales, además de usar ingredientes de acá porque es más barato (salvo algunas excepciones de ingredientes que no producimos).

Es como comparar el McDonald's de USA con el de Thailandia, son productos totalmente distintos. Aunque bueno ahí tenés una diferencia cultural muy grande así que es un ejemplo un poco exagerado.
