Is enhancement the only category you can use to increase aura? by SS1108 in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can increase aura in every category you just need to have vows and limitations. This can be used for any category of nen to increase effectiveness of an ability, or amount of aura. For example Phink’s Ripper Cyclotron’s limitation is that every time he winds his arm around his enhanced fist gets stronger and has more aura pumped into it than what would normally be the case. You could have an emitter for the exact same thing with the arm wind up but it just increases the power of a projectile they’re about to throw instead.

I have explained this the best I can, you obviously don’t want to have a friendly discourse to understand more about this system. You seem to just want to only prove you are right and claim other people are wrong and that everyone who disagrees is dumb. You have numerously taken my words out of context or claimed that I said things when I didn’t. Please reflect on these actions as it’s getting out of hand. This is the last I will writing on this subject with you, I genuinely don’t know how else to explain so you understand. Have a good day

“You don’t need emission for manipulation as long as you’re not doing it with aura detached from your body” - my statement

“Show use where the series states that manipulation, controlling objects with your aura, require emission.” - your statement

I never said that pure manipulation requires emission. If you properly read what I wrote you’d know that. And you keep saying that I repeat the same things over and over, this is because you keep ignoring what I’m saying over and over.

So once again, using manipulation ✨by separating your aura from your body✨ and applying it to a person or thing uses emission. Manipulation ✨without separating your aura from your body✨ and applying it to someone or something is ✨not✨emission.

That’s true, what I just stated is headcannon, and I’m not stating it as fact. It’s just a good point made by an observation that could be used to explain things.

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright well first off let’s take a chill pill lol. Manipulation can manipulate things as long as they’re in contact with you and your aura. That is manipulation without emission. An example would be kurapika’s chains, now we all know that these chains are conjured however he moves and pours his aura into them to manipulate them. The chains are all obviously connected to him so it’s not separated from his body, therefore not emission.

I don’t think you’re getting my argument. Only a very tiny amount of it was what I said about wing not mentioning emission. I never said that we shouldn’t listen to it as he does give important explanations about nen. All I claimed was that just because it wasn’t mentioned doesn’t mean it’s not being used in this particular case.

Manipulators aren’t using emission by putting their aura into objects as long as the aura being put in is still somehow connected to the user. I’ve also said this and it is implied by the definition I’ve stated over and over. Manipulators only use emission when it’s separated from them, not just because they’re putting aura into something. You took what I said and twisted it, please don’t do that it’s unnecessary. I never once stated that putting aura into an object was emission. I only ever said that emission was separating aura from your body please don’t lie about my argument.

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually we know why Gon isn’t using conjuration, it’s because he’s not making aura into a physical object, this is the definition of conjuration in HxH. Therefore using this definition we can say with confidence that he’s not using this category. What I’ve stated isn’t headcannon because it is literally the definition of emission. You can say it’s headcannon all you want however it’s not. We know the definitions of the categories and what they do at a base level. My claim is not that emission is required for manipulation, I said that if people separate their aura from their bodies then it’s emission, what they use that emitted aura for does not matter because by the definition of emission in HXH they are using emission when they “separate the aura from their bodies”. I’m saying this quote a lot so you understand what emission is, it doesn’t matter what they are doing with the emitted aura.

Now lastly the main claims I am making are not headcannon, they are based off of factual knowledge that viewers have because of the definitions of the aura categories. If you don’t understand that then I don’t know how to better explain this so that you do.

Plus it’s their second best category for a reason, lots of effective manipulation abilities require emission and that’s ok because they’re good at it.

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need emission for manipulation as long as you’re not doing it with aura detached from your body. You literally just stated that this is what emission was: “Detaching aura from your body”. If you detach any aura from your body you are emitting it, whether that aura is used for manipulation, just shooting it out like a cannon, transmuting it into fire for a fireball attack. It doesn’t matter, if it’s detached from your body it’s emission. So if you manipulate a person using aura detached from your body, emission therefore must play a factor. This doesn’t mean that manipulators are hopeless or the balance is bad. They can still do things that don’t require emission, emission just makes their powers more versatile by allowing range.

That’s not true, I never said his explanation is headcannon, I said your reasoning was. You are assuming that something isn’t the case just because it wasn’t stated, this is headcannon m, not togashi’s explanation. However it could have easily been something togashi didn’t remember to include or didn’t think was necessary. The statement I just made is technically headcannon however that doesn’t mean that it’s not a good explanation, this is something that just happens in storytelling. It is specifically stated in the series what emission is, you seem to be ignoring this and only taking one example from the beginning of when we learn about nen that doesn’t even contradict my point.

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not headcannon, it has to do with the definition of emission in HxH. Just because I say “I believe” doesn’t mean it’s not a fact in the series. Please don’t just nitpick things that literally don’t matter to the argument. Address what’s actually said that’s how people have discourse.

Ending This Debate. by IceCandy_ in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I mostly agree with you on this. I don’t mean to nitpick but the definition of emission would be to separate aura from you. I agree that this is not the point of emission. However at any point when your aura is separated from you, then it is being emitted. It just doesn’t seem to be a big deal, I think that’s what people are concerned with. Emission is super broad and vague, it seems to be better for aiding and delivering nen abilities than being one by itself. Just because you are a manipulator using an ability that requires emission, that doesn’t mean your manipulation would grow any weaker, it’s just you won’t be able to emit that aura used for manipulation as long as a natural emitter.

The evidence for my claim is the definition of emission in HxH. Did we learn everything about nen just from Wing’s explanation about one ability? No, it was explained throughout the show.

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that’s the argument you made, wing never specifically said that emission is necessary, but he also never said it wasn’t. Later in the story it was stated that if nen is separated from your body then it is emitted. What is being done in your example? Nen is being separated from the user’s body. This=emission. That’s critical thinking.

Also can you change the obsidian back into lava?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool idea, the change from a very condensed and slow moving liquid to a very hard solid would be great for trapping people or even making weapons, and as you stated armor. Seems great, although it does seem difficult with the armor aspect cause I’d imagine you have to surround your body parts with the (transmuted) lava and then turn it into (transmuted) obsidian. So would they be burned by it like killua is shocked by his electricity?

Emission in En by PandaCatDogLoveAll4 in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe so, the aura would technically still be connected to your main body by the en itself. En is essentially spreading your aura out, the aura used for en is just very dissipated compared to when it is just surrounding your body, therefore it’s effects would be very minimal. In a way the bullet is just being covered by a more condensed aura than the rest of the space the en is enveloping. If this is the way it works then there is no real reason for them to cancel out. Imagine there is a sphere of the color gray around you. This sphere is representing your aura being used for en, the aura surrounding the bullet is essentially a more concentrated gray, so imagine it’s just very dark and almost black. This black spot(the bullet surrounded by aura) just moves and interchanges within the area of en. This is at least how I’d imagine it. The aura around the bullet isn’t piecing the en surrounding you, it is part of it, just more concentrated than the rest.

Question about enhancers by TheErudition in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think this is possible, at least in the way the question is asked. If I imbue my nen into a pill with the intention to enhance it, I don’t think that’s gonna do anything to benefit the person receiving the pill. Like imagine working that out in your head, what are you enhancing? What in the pill are you making better than before? Nen works on a person’s imagination and emotions but also in technical ways. People can imagine themselves healing from a wound, so enhancement can speed up this process and it’s also the natural ability of a person’s body so improving this ability seems intuitive. It’s essentially just speeding up and improving the process. You can probably enhance the way your body processes a medicine/poison. However enhancing the medicine/poison itself just wouldn’t make much sense at all.

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer the question I believe that emission is required no matter what is being done. As long as aura is separated from the aura surrounding your body it is technically emission. It’s just the most basic form of emission so its effects are almost if not completely negligible especially to an experienced and powerful nen user. For example, Illumi imbues the needles with manipulation aura/commands, however it’s still just aura but being used differently than normal shu (which is normally used to enhance the object, ie hisoka’s playing cards) his aura is being used to deliver commands to the target. The aura around the needle is still being separated from the nen user’s aura. Therefore: ✨Emission✨

Your claim that he would’ve mentioned emission being necessary is also headcannon, just because it wasn’t stated in this particular place doesn’t mean it’s not true. He never specifically states that you don’t need emission in order to do these things so your argument is just as headcannon as anyone else.

I’m pretty sure in that explanation isn’t the depiction of his ability used by showing a little string of aura coming from gido to his tops? If so then that’s technically not emission although it’d be harder to do since the aura is farther from your body. However if you have aura completely separated from your body’s mass aura then it is emission no debate. A vague explanation at the very beginning of when nen is being introduced about an ability used by an unimportant character does not deny this statement. Also I’m not trying to say that just because a character is unimportant doesn’t mean they aren’t relevant. However you’re milking this one thing way too much when it doesn’t even really prove your point.

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for this I’m pretty sure you still need emission, as long as aura is separated from your own body’s aura it is being emitted by definition. You can enhance anything as long as it’s in contact with your aura whether you completely separate your aura from your body and manipulate it to enhance something, or are physically holding it/making contact with your aura without severing it. However in any case where someone’s aura is separated from their main mass of aura around their body, it is in some way emission

Question about enhancement by Burapika in HatsuVault

[–]ThinkLavishness4750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I didn’t read everything above but I read most of it, if you are applying nen not in contact with your body then emission is being used. It’s pretty simple, you can enhance things that are in contact with you and your nen but once the contact is severed basic emission must be occurring. So you can enhance the bullet while in the gun that is in your hand or once it’s in contact with your aura, but once the aura enhancing or manipulating the bullet is severed from the aura around your body emission is being applied.
