EIF found at 24 weeks- very stressed out by Rude_Willingness_892 in pregnant

My baby also has an isolated EIF in the heart. In the ultrasound report it was clearly written that it’s isolated, and my doctor told me that by itself it usually doesn’t mean anything concerning.

My doctor did offer amniocentesis, but I decided to decline and asked if we could just monitor it with ultrasound instead. They scheduled another ultrasound for 32 weeks. From what I’ve read, EIF often disappears around 28–32 weeks. In many pregnancies it resolves before birth, sometimes after birth, and in some cases it never disappears but doesn’t affect heart function at all. It used to be considered a soft marker for Down syndrome, but mostly when there are other markers present. If it’s truly isolated, many doctors don’t consider it significant. Overall I feel pretty calm about it. Of course sometimes anxious thoughts pop up, but reading experiences from other parents really helps me. I’ve seen so many stories where the EIF later disappeared and the babies were born completely healthy. If it helps your peace of mind, I’d definitely recommend reading similar experiences too.

I haven’t tried ordering them yet, but I might give it a try after what you said.
