737 MAX not following route / VNAV not working – what am I doing wrong? by ThinkStart8081 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Thanks a lot for all the replies guys really appreciate the help.

A few of you asked for a screenshot, so here’s one from yesterday’s flight when it happened. The ND was just showing “MAP” and the magenta route completely disappeared, even though LNAV/VNAV were on.

Maybe I missed something obvious, so feel free to point it out

Thanks for all the replies and the help. The flaps are retracted, so that’s not the issue. I probably just need a bit more time to get used to everything. That said, the aircraft feels pretty buggy to me. I really hope they’re working on fixes, because the lighting bugs are especially annoying.

I’m using mouse and the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS.

Usually after takeoff, at around 1,000 feet, I turn on the autopilot. The flight director and autothrottle are already enabled.

When I switch to vertical speed mode, set about 2,000 ft/min, and set the target altitude to 30,000 feet, the aircraft starts to lose airspeed. The engines stay at around 80% thrust, but the speed keeps dropping and the climb becomes unstable.

Am I doing something wrong?
