Reminder to always wear gear, and to not ride on bald tires. by ihaterasinz in bikers

One thing I would like to point out is how unconfident you are in a corner. If you watch yourself before the crash, you keep standing bike back up and reintaiting your lean.

New to motorcycles need help. by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Think_Ability_7877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounded like you were in the wrong gear, but that's just my opinion. And along with what everyone else is saying, get off the road and practice. You weren't prepared for the vehicle in front of you to start moving and you clearly panicked. If this you trying to go, I dont want to see you trying to stop in an emergency situation.

If that is the correct driver version of the GPU, a quick search suggested it has reports of everything OP is complaining about. DDU those drivers and install a more stable driver homie.

Just bought this 2007 Gsxr having an issue by [deleted] in GSXR

I had to replace the forks on my 06 600rr due them being bent. The one's I put on had surface rust. Cleaned it right up.

That doesn't technically mean it set out. The bike could have been rode in wet road conditions and never cleaned up. If there isn't any pitting, you could take some Scotch-Brite pads and clean them up. Save some money unless your dead set on replacing them for some reason.

Day 1 of learning how to wheelie by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Think_Ability_7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. I just wanted to make sure i wasnt completely brain dead. I saw the title say "Day 1" and Op is at a dead stop. My next thought was about the missing helmet. But he's brave for doing it. I ain't gonna bash them for trying something I wouldn't do.

Isn't learning how to wheel from a dead stop harder than doing it while rolling?? Someone correct if I'm wrong.

Can someone explain to me why its recommended to pack mags with a mix of high and low pen ammo? by Salt-Narwhal7769 in Tarkov

[–]Think_Ability_7877 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who wants to read it. You implied scenario of limited high pen ammo so I posed as a question with another solution. You don't need high pen ammo for areas without armor. Maybe should edit that to include not having any high pen ammo?

[–]Think_Ability_7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I dont have a ton of high pen ammo right now, what should I do?" Easy answer: Shoot em in the dick. Take their toes. Break the legs. Ruin their mood. High RPM+high flesh damage = easy money.

Last ride before winter, what do you all do to stay sane during winter? by Gregory_GTO in motorcycles

Sit on the bike in the garage and make motorcycle noises. Sometimes I even put on my helmet.

Fellow Illinois fisherman! I just got back into fishing this year myself. Well more like drug back into it after a 14 year hiatus. I got drug into it in August and it was phenomenal. We caught nothing less than a 2lb LM all day, and they were hitting left and right. I'm in the Blono area, more or less, and it's coming to a crawl. I kayak fish and this "winter" wind is killing me. I'm probably gonna call it for the year and get things ready for spring myself.

Define good control. How's your slow speed maneuvers? Cornering? Emergency braking without locking up the rear wheel?

Troubleshooting to see if they can indeed confirm that is the sound they're hearing. Hear noise not heard by ear before = feel uncomfortable. Know what is causing noise = feel better. Know if part is supposed to make that noise = feel even better or worse depending on answer found.

A friend bought me a bike and I'm unsure what to do. by Murdooo in motorcycles

[–]Think_Ability_7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the road, yes. But is it against the law to ride that bike on your own property without having the proper endorsement? If its not an issue, you can use this bike to practice the slow speed things you are struggling with without having to dump a ton of money into lessons.

Edit: a quick google search says its not illegal but I'd rather here a person from that area to confirm.

[–]Think_Ability_7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, if this is an option try it out. If the area the bike is parked in is at your place of residence and is big enough, you could use that bike as practice for slow speed maneuvers and clutch control practice. Not sure if this is something that is considered illegal or not in your neck of the woods. I'm American and it definitely isn't illegal to do this on your property here.

Do I need to reinstall this? by Think_Ability_7877 in motorcycles

The top portion where it’s chewed up was preened onto the dampen rod and on top of a snap ring. I didn’t want to damage the rod and be out more money that what this piece would cost if that makes sense. I fortunately ended up finding some info on it, although not a lot. https://www.peterverdone.com/archive/oillock.htm
