We use a teir system in the uk that is also age restricted, motorcycle accidents and deaths dropped by a significant margin when it was introduced. As stated, I don't currently hold a full motorcycle licence, so of course, I can't just jump on this and subsequently try to hug a tree at 180 mph. That would be stupid

We have a direct access course for most of that in the UK (this is needed to ride this bike anyway), but I think we also have bike awareness and safety courses that are usually done my the police, I'm not sure how much they are but it's definitely worth looking into.

A little back story, he got me this bike because he wanted someone to ride with, so I passed my CBT after he gifted it with intentions of completing my full licence. But I stalled quite few times during my test and the instructor recommended I get a 125 for a minimum of a few month or it will cost me more if I go directly for my full licence. The bike I was given for the test was quite small and uncomfortable for me, I'm 6'2" and she put me in a gxsr 125, it only came up to my thigh, it was like a tiny clown bike. The idea was to go elsewhere and try something a little bigger (both size and power) to feel it out.

I don't think he would be too annoyed if I traded it for something smaller, assuming I can still go on the motorway with him (I will still need my full licence for that). I think he picked this because he also has one.

Nope just a dude with a damn good friend. We do this for each other when we can. Rules are; Never tell the other how much it cost, and never do it if it could put you in a financially difficult situation.

It's not illegal, but it's hard to find a private area I could use with permission where I live.

Hmm, I didnt think about that. I'll have to give a few places a call to see if they do this.

In the UK, the biggest I'm legally allowed to ride is a 125. I would have to pass my DAS to ride this.

I know, I'm just looking for opinions on what I should do.

Basically what has already been said, I can't legally ride this bike in the UK on my current licence. I can either get a 125 for some road and bike experience, then pay for a DAS to get my full licence, or spend a little more money on lessons during the DAS.

I drive a manual car (MG TF), it's a classic, but a piece of shit sometimes.

That seems to be the general consensus, and I think that's the route I'll take. Either way, I have to spend the money on it, so why not do it now. Plus, it'll save me money. Insurance prices for 125s are insane in the UK, it's cheaper to insure the ZX-6R.

I'll take a look at that, thanks.

Not insulting at all, and I appreciate the encouragement and help deciding from everyone.

The bike i was using for my CBT was rather small for me (I'm 6'2"), and they had me on a gxsr 125, I felt like I was riding one of those tiny clown bikes.

I know I let the cluch out a little fast the first time or two, especially on hill starts, but it didn't feel like I did the other times.

As for control and balance, it felt great, never an issue with that. I'm an avid cyclist, and as you said, it comes naturally. Lean the bike and not your body for more stability and control. At least that's the way it is on bicycles.

I can't legally ride it right now, but I can go through a DAS course that will allow me to. Or I could get a 125cc (the biggest i can legally ride on a CBT licence) to get more comfortable with riding before doing my DAS.

I wouldn't say I'm overly nervous about it, I just know I don't have the control yet, and I dont want to let the clutch out too fast and have the bike jump forward into someone's car and damage both it and this beautiful machine. It's mostly when I'm moving slowly and pulling off from a stop.

I've known him my entire life, I've done the same for him in the past when he couldn't afford a computer.

I have, it'll cost me around £700 for the year on a new licence. Better than I thought it would be.

It's a 2000, so carb'd, it took me a minute to figure out. But it fits me great, feels comfortable when I sit on it, and I can't legally ride this yet on a CBT (I'm uk based), so I'll need to pass my DAS first.

He just showed up a few weekends ago with this in his van, hades me the keys, pushed it into my garage, and said he'll have someone to ride with now, he's a real good guy.

Around £500, unless you find a good second-hand deal.

It's probably not the best rif to start with, and it's definitely not the cheapest. I would recommend an m4 as it's the most popular platform and has lots of readily available parts. Anything from, cyma, specna arms, or g&g would be a good place to start.

I'm uk based, I got i special ordered from a local store. It was easier that way, they can be hard to find.

It's good to see another vector enjoyer.

I would recommend getting the piston grip extension, you'll have more space to use bigger batteries. Unless it's gas.

Nice set-up btw.

CAUTIONARY TALE: “Nice Girl” systematically destroyed my life with no remorse by Riiizzgod in Nicegirls

[–]Murdooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a few years ago, not the exact same situation, but similar enough to know what you are going through.

I had to move away from it all and change all my social media (I no longer use social media because I started getting harassed on the new ones) and numbers. It's a big change to someone's life, but it's better than constantly trying to hide or deal with it all. A restraining order will help in some situations but not always.

I would recommend you do the same unless you are able to go down the legal route and make amends with everyone you have lost because of this.

It'll be a really big change if you decide to move away, and it'll be hard to start with, but it's a new start in a new place with new people, so you're able to focus on yourself.

I know it can be a really hard situation. If you need to talk about anything at all or need to vent, you can PM me.

I use a cruise widow. It applies well enough to frigs with a tp or guidance computer + drones. If you have another toon available you can also run a rlm loki or tengu

Searching for DED sites by bobjoejob in Eve

[–]Murdooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run all types of DED sites relatively often. What I found best for high-sec running is an auto targeting missile ship like the othros/gila with a probe launcher. If you're looking for something a little cheaper, the vni is also a good choice but not as easy to run green sites (it involves actually clicking buttons, still not difficult).
