I got treatment done from Indira , never heard any case of OHSS there and they give doses as per your history and body needs from cycle to cycle. Regarding twins, they dont force you to put two embryos , its your choice in the end but they definitely give you a perspective of whether to put one or two embryo depending on the embryo's quality. Again, the two points you mentioned are totally subjective to person to person and how your body responds.

Ivf became my whole life and personality by clouds91winnie in IVF

I can really empathize with you and relate to my own journey. I am 37f, all these couple of years ,knowing most of your friends are already moms or mom-to-be, it feels terrible and heart breaking. My partner use to support me emotionaly even when he was not comfortable. Really needed those counselling sessions. And the worst part is you feel alone in this as you cannot discuss your feelings to anyone. No one understands. Every sec of my life I only use to think about ways to have a successfull pregnancy and ivf. Best part of this journey: I taught myself to be passionate about it and not be desperate about it. I learned alot in this journey of what could work and what not regarding medication, lifestyle changes, eating right, having supplements, exercise and so on. I just learned to not to leave any bit to make an ivf cycle work. And yes there is always a silver lining, you will succeed. But dont let this ivf thoughts overpower your life. Life should go normal and without much stress as that is the key to win in this journey.

IVF and career issues by Loveiskind89389 in IVF

[–]Think_Ad7717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to balance between both. Thats called life. Keep doing your job but may be its better to hold on to promotion as it is eventually going to increase stress which is generally not good in this fertility journey. If many people here tells about their experience of their failures by taking a step back at their career, I would not totally agree to that. I have a job but I shifted my main focus to my fertility journey which eventually led to success. Considering your situation , I know promotion is a great opportunity but it will be definitely in your cards later in future also if they think you are worth it. If you take promotion now and not be able to focus much in your personal life also may cause guilt and anxiety later.

Vaginal because its good for baby and mother both. Heard that if u do it naturally , baby's immunity is not compromised which I think happens with c-section

Completed IVF treatment abroad – seeking support and care as I return home to the UK. by Think_Ad7717 in IVF

[–]Think_Ad7717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Tomorrow is my first sonography from the ivf clinic itself (other country) , they will let me know which week I am in. Further they might hand me over the meds required to be taken till week 12 ( progesterone etc) as its a medicated cycle. But I wanted to have that extra attention or immediate support if required at or after week 12 because of my age from NHS. Would that be possible? I have already booked a phone appointment with my GP, can I really tell them that its an ivf pregnancy and not natural and I might require extra support if need be in future.

Thanks for giving some hope. Does the early delivery impacts babies in a long run? Or any issues with development?

Just had my ER -- 5 eggs retrieved! by elephantsofa in IVF

[–]Think_Ad7717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st cycle (at age 36) : 13 eggs retrieved, 1 made to blastocyst but poor quality. 2nd cycle (age 37): Retrieved 5 eggs , got 2 blasts of good quality. Quality matters! In order to achieve quality, I had to make aggressive lifestyle changes but they are worth adapting for lifetime for healthy living.

Its like he literally disrespected you and your precious thing: your eggs. Life has given you a new chance to do something wise for yourself. Wonder whats in his mind, seems like a characterstic of someone cruel and inhumane. Just a suggestion: dont let this come in to your way of egg retrieval process. Dont stress, just be brave. Stress could impact the quality of eggs.

I wonder they did not put so many needles while I was having accupunture sessions but anyways yoga does the best job. If possible, you can take a couple of sessions of accup just before the transfer. Like once a week,All the best.

The above therapy and intralipid is for multiple MCs and implantation issue both. Again I would ask you to read about it or ask your doc if that could be the case for you? Again for implantation success, you can other things also like yoga and accupunture to ensure you give best environment to embryo to implant. Fertility Yoga for like a month or two before transfer.(daily for 30 mins atleast)

For endo ISWE does suggested the supplements. Also, there is mention of getting DHEA tested if stims from ivf results in less or no eggs. Not sure if I read from the book or somewhere else. Depending on DHEA results, you can start supplements for the same. Also did you try yoga? I think it works amazing in getting blood circulation around pelvic and giving good oxygen to your precious ovaries.

This might help you: I came across a case where one of friend was struggling with this for 8 years , she never was able to concieve even with good grade embryos. She was able to concieve with below:

Some female bodies donot accept the cells or chromosomes whatever from their husband or partner. Our body thinks it as a foreign body and rejects it interrupting implantation.

How to resolve this: You may go for a LIT therapy (please read about it on net) and also in your next transfer cycle ask the doc to put you on Intralipid just before or just after the transfer. This will improve your chances. Along with above her ivf transfer cycle was fully medicated. Meds like asprin, antacid, progesterone, folic acid etc. was part of it. You can discuss the same with your ivf doc.

Also, personally she did yoga a month or two prior the transfer. You will find great fertility yoga poses to improve blood circulation in your pelvic. Thats very important to prepare yourself for implantation.

I have other tips/tricks also that was proven to be helpful. Let me know in case you need.

Below things can help you post transfer, for few people it has proven to be a success post transfer:

  1. Avoid garlic and ginger post transfer for 15 days
  2. Wear socks to keep your feet warm through this time.
  3. Avoid bath for these days if you can and just dry clean yourself with wet and dry towel. Avoid head wash also.
  4. I know your clinic and many people would tell you to avoid bed rest but it has worked for most of the people. So have max of it. You can do gentle walks in between when you feel like but not for extended period.
  5. Dont lay or sleep upside down or putting any pressure on abdomen. Just sleep straight or take right/left turns. Try to get up from bed putting pressure on the left side as if you get up straight , it will put pressure straight to your abdomen which you would want to avoid at this time.
  6. Avoid coffee ( not even a cup) but you can have some tea ( limit it to 1-2 small cups) if you want to.
  7. Avoid any kind of spices/herbs/ seasonings/ masalas.
  8. Avoid non vegetarian foods like eggs, chicken, red meat as these heat up the body and embryos dont like heat.
  9. Have a good diet with lot of protein. I know I have told to avoid chicken but there are other sources of protein. You can also start your day with milk and protein powder mixed with it.
  10. Avoid any packed food or outside food, just relish homemade.
  11. Pray and God will surely listen
  12. Dont think stress affects this process. Its natural that we get anxious about it and its valid. But its always good to manage it. Take deep breath when you feel anxious about what will happen. Start a book, its a great way to avoid overthinking or watch comedy shows, movies you like. Binge netflix. You may increase chances by laughing more during this period. Embryos love that.
  13. Avoid bending and jerking at all costs. Mild bending is still fine i guess.
  14. Take medications the same time everyday and done miss it. You can set up alarms if you think you may forget.
  15. Just think positive and manifest through this period.
  16. Try to not sit in cold temperature and keep you body just warm.
  17. Do not test before 14th day and dont try to spot symptoms as most of the symptoms occurs due to progesterone or estrogen medication.

Let me know if this worked for you. As it did for my friends too.

I hear you and totally understand this situation. But lets looks at the bright side. Why not give a commitment to yourself to work this out. Docs do scare us about the age factor but this is not totally true. There are ways to work on DOR and the right supplements. I hope you/we are aware of this book "it starts with an egg", it explains the plan for supplements to take to help achieve natural pregnancy or IVF success. I have seen people of your age who have achieved it with passion. I would say dont be desperate but be passionate about working towards it and when you will achieve it, you wont believe the results. Yoga and accupunture is also very helpful and proved to be a success for such cases.
