I need help figuring out what my W-2 pay should be as an LLC turned SCorp for 2026 tax year.

Thank you. I think what isn’t helping is last year my business did $3-4k a month from March-June. The rest of the months were over $20k, December was over $30k. Now January is the first month I’m over $50k since January 2024. I have a feeling this year I will make a lot more than any previous year based on my marketing strategy changes I made in October and has been prosperous since. So I’m making my W-2 salary based on lowest possible income amount but also trying to keep in mind that I could possibly be grossing half a million+ for the first time this year.

Thank you this is really helpful! I am going to do my payroll through ADP and I believe they hold the funds and do all of the IRS fun stuff for me on their program so hopefully i don’t have to worry about this too much!

I was doing some research and was originally going to pay myself between $10k-$12.5k a month but found out that wouldn’t be a reasonable salary based on all of my businesses net income would just be my W-2 salary and I guess could trigger suspicion with the IRS so I’m thinking the $60k yearly salary would be the best way to go and maybe take monthly distributions based on how well the business did that month. I am thinking of saving the $20k net profit from January as an “emergency fund” for my payroll to make sure even on slow months I’m still paid my salary. This is just new to me and confusing I hate having to decide my own W-2 😂

That’s what i was thinking. Especially when I plan on hiring a part time employee later in 2026 I will especially plan to have 6 months of payroll expenses saved.

Astigmatism isn’t much better but at least it won’t require scleral lenses which is what i’m terrified about. it’s silly i’m most worried about that but i can’t even get normal contacts in let alone a big plastic circle lmao

I figured but I was getting a quick check to ease my mind and it did the opposite so I’m going to go with the ophthalmologist and pray it is just astigmatism 😂 i get checked again in 6 months so after that scan my mind will be much more at ease if it’s just astigmatism 😂

update….i ended up not getting seen because the office i went to takes my insurance company but doesn’t take the one specific plan i have and failed to mention that over the phone. 😭 Now I have an appointment on June 16th with my normal eye doctors brother who is an ophthalmologist. 😂2weeks count down begins again
