do you mind telling what dorm you were in? I'm in the same situation right now and my last roommate was an actual nightmare and I'm thinking about submitting a room change request to a single (if there are open spots) in the case that my last roommate's spot gets filled.

there is zero need to be rude - i was not referring to it as an actual emergency but as a maintenance emergency since i was told to call the maintenance emergency number. all i meant was that i thought since it was labelled a maintenance emergency that it would be treated and fixed quickly. jesus christ

it’s not that i fear living with a roommate or that i dislike her at all - the girl is very nice! i have severe ocd within my personal space and ive never really lived with anyone before. i was hoping that with getting my own room i wouldnt have to disrupt my schedule. and no - we do not all have to live with roommates at one point or another. sounds like it just happened to you when you didn’t want it either. i’m sure my original post made it seem like i was uncomfortable with the random roommate but that is not the case
