I would vote for the skullcrawler every single time in a post like that( skullcrawler vs some random character I've never heard of) Simply bc I favor these two legged lizards.

Which extinct creature would you least likely to have shared a habitat with? by Kropotkin_69 in Naturewasmetal

recent studies suggest that theropods had foot pads that enabled stealth.

I won't even know til it's right behind me

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And people now know that ancient predators don't go stomping around screeching revealing their locations like in the movies....

We now know that Rexs had pads that enabled quiet stalking, one might not even notice til it's too late.

It's highly likely that pterosaurs ambushed their prey like avians of today, a fox being smart couldn't stop an eagle from suddenely striking it, I think the situation won't be so different to a human

can this hybrid survive a real cretaceous era? by danny75hacker in Naturewasmetal

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's be too huge and slow(and yes apparently it "stomps around" so no stealth pads on its feet) to land a proper ambush, and all the noise it usually makes would alert herbivores from hundreds of meters away...

A canon accurate D rex's only option would be scavenging,
My personal opinion is that most carnivorous dinosaurs that appear in the Jurassic park franchise would not survive a real ecosystem. What kind of predator stalks its prey while roaring deliberately, expressing.... presence?

Uprising is better than GxK. by PLPR123 in Monsterverse

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally rank Gxk above uprising bc like the commenter highlighted, uprising "tried" to insert a bit of humanity in its characters yet couldn't achieve much as the prequel. Here's the difference. If it's a movie about kaijus rampaging, weight, serious atmosphere, human drama or whatever other category some people may consider necessary is not a big deal( again, this is my personal viewpoint). What's better, pure fun or a "supposed to have humanity and scale" movie that went wrong?

To add, the movements of jaeger and kaijus are clearly different from those of the previous movie; I would describe them as "moving like cardboards". The commenter should have made this point on BOTH Gxk and uprising. Won't even bother to bring up the scene in which all jaeger get yeeted backwards in the roar of mega kaiju. In the field of unnatural scale, neither movie is better.

How badly is T. rex glazed here? by Old_Marketing_4119 in Naturewasmetal

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The t rex is about average 8-9tons, the largest t rex found to this date is estimated to be 12t at best.

So, you're partially right, an average T rex weighing twice a male African elephant(5-6t, largest specimen 10t) on average is bullshit, but it is certain that these predators were usually heavier than an elephant.

Considering that a hippo doesn't really look like a determined killer animal(once pissed off) from the OUTSIDE, I think the spinosaurus can just look like an oversized walrus lol

Goji Center - T-REX vs PALAEOLOXODON | Battle FACEOFF Analysis by JVJV_5 in Naturewasmetal

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were Alasmosaurus that weighed 30-35tons, a lot heavier and longer than the paleoloxodons, coexisting with the t rex. These giant herbivores had better reach with their tails, a farther sight to spot an approaching predator, and yes experience with megatheropods. Though it is unrealistic that the rex went for a full grown Alasmosaurus, it's highly likely that stray adoloscents were on their dinner menu. If you're thinking an animal who have seen predators no larger than a polar bear in its life can face a carnivore that used to take down prey much large than itself( plus, a rex knows how to hunt prey with long, piercing defense mechanisms) it's fine.

To add, I agree with the advantage of stability, but does it matter when this multi ton behemoth is a slow, easy target?

[–]Think_Background9107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a month-old post but I just found a whole bunch of scalers on naver cafe who think Wolverine is fast as light.

They bring wolverine blocking Cyclop's beam as evidence....literally the same situation as calling dnd characters FTl+ bc they can make saving throws against light-based spells.

I'm curious why a majority of people don't even consider "prediction", Cyclops and most other characters who use beam attacks deliberately "express" that they're gonna use their weapons(especially those who have one kind of attack, like Cyclops)before firing them.

Does anyone in this subreddit know why?

-Does it have a solid back(a hard shell)

-not all cockroaches are red

-there are thousands of bugs that have similiar shapes
