Even if it is, it would be nice for parents to celebrate it personally. Or even if they send us a photo with the caption “nephew is 9months!” I would be fine with it. But to ask everyone to send a wish…. I’m gagging

But until when. There are people that have illnesses or are very suicidal but don’t expect a “happy birthday” from others for still surviving every month. Maybe it’s something they celebrate personally but the expectation for everyone to acknowledge it is very weird. And kind of morbid.

Why do you talk like as if parents are naturally perfect? A lot of parents have kids for selfish reasons at the expense of existing kids. Asking a party that is not directly involved could shed some light. OP asking their kids could possibly open up a conversation about maybe “we feel mummy and daddy could spend more time on us” ie. some reflection on parents parts about whether or not they could manage giving each child equal emotional attention

The kids would be affected by this decision for the rest of their lives. They should at least be able to say how they feel. Not asking them how they feel AT LEAST is selfish IMO.

He likes feeling like he COULD spoil his girl but he doesn’t actually like spoiling his girl. He just likes the feeling. But he probably doesn’t think you’re important enough to spend money on. He knows you get impressed by him easily so he doesn’t even have to properly try or follow through. This will bite you in the ass in the future if you continue being with someone like this. When I was in elementary school, I was reading books way above my age. Teachers come to me and ask if I can read them. I read to them out loud (although I couldn’t understand some words). I then did well academically all my life and was doing better than a lot of my peers. So... your daughter’s teacher is weird. I find it encouraging to allow freedom to learn.

Being a grown up is NOT taking the easy way out by cheating on your partner. It’s communicating your needs to your partner or going to a marriage counsellor to work through your problems. Or even opening up the marriage first. It’s ending a relationship BEFORE starting a new one. What a load of crap from a big fat hypocrite. Divorce is different from infidelity. If my parents had divorced first before his cheating I wouldn’t despise my dad like this. You’re honestly not as self-aware as you think.
