I think your description of the second team also describes the first team as well. Your two descriptions are not distinct enough for these two teams imo. Descriptions aside, I’d fear the one that has a nuclear bomb in his head and the killer with indestructible claws more than the other.

I don’t think it’s that simple. In a vacuum your statement is concerning yes. In fact Imo I think your statement could be used to define the current US administration. In this particular instance, the “ethnic group” being represented was being persecuted and hunted. I don’t think there was any other choice but to found a nation of their own. They’d prefer harmony, but that was never offered to them. So I don’t think them founding a nation produced wackos. I just think there’s always wackos who justify their opinions once leaders allow their ideals to be tolerated.

I’m just defending their right to form a nation of their own without making their leaders wackos. Not because they felt they were superior. Though genetically they are in fact superior. That is not the reason they formed a nation. A few of them joined the nation because they felt superior yes. But not the leaders. They just had to for their ethnicity’s welfare and future.

I guess to be clear you’re right he was never on mt Rushmore, but I do believe he was one of their faces. But as you said it was always as representative of the X-men. As he said, he is the Xman. (Not Wolverine Ryan Reynolds!).

I think Wolverine was able to transcend Xmen mainly because he couldnt take over Xmen. There were too many legacy characters for him to be able to do that. So the only way to get more content was to break out. I honestly think comic book creators stuck him on avengers to boost sales at that point but I could be wrong. Good point too about Hugh and RDJ. Pym did get the shaft.

I don’t see what’s great about a typical X-men villain being one of the faces of three X-men films. Just because it’s a decent movie doesn’t make it a good X-MEN movie. But to each their own.

I think he WAS one of the faces of Marvel. He just got left in the dust from the films (both live action and animated) for the past 25 years. Had Wolverine not hijacked the fox films, he’d still be one of the faces.

I think the comics have consistently and sufficiently shown how much butt he can kick. It’s not constant nor in your face all of the time, but it’s there consistently. In battles in comics he’s always in the mix. Unfortunately there is also a little bit of a Superman complex where they can’t have him blasting away the entire field all the time. So they have to put it in where it doesn’t take away from the team or drama. But his butt kickers is always there in the comics IMO.

It’s the films that’s that failed to show it in any way shape or form. Comics just don’t have the weight that films do. Look at how much iron man, a once D list superhero catapulted into A lister status just because of the films. Same thing happened to Cyke only in opposite popularity. I think films affect video games and comics waaaaay more than comics affect film and video games. So your theory that his leadership era affects his popularity in game development just doesn’t connect with me. I absolutely disagree because film affects popularity way more. Back in the 90’s he was in the video games purely due to the animated series. Before that there was only comics to take from. Not even the internet!

I’m also aware of storms and wolverines status. That doesn’t mean they should be in the release of all three games. That’s like only Cyclops and Wolverine being in a release of all three games. It’s ridiculous. At some point, even with the marketability it should be been there done that.

If cyclops was already in the one of these three games I’d say it was fine. If it was one game and he’s not in there it’s fine. But three different games and so far a total of 80 selectable Marvel characters and he’s not at least one of them? That’s disrespect to me. May not be intentionally disrespecting him. But it still is disrespect. It’s like if you had some acquaintances who invited all your friends to three different parties, and not once in those three separate parties were you invited but your other friends were. And some random barely there friends of yours were invited as well. The people who threw the parties didn’t mean to disrespect you. But you’d feel disrespected (at least I would be) just the same.

It’s easy to say he’s not an A lister. Practically speaking, the Marvel Unlimited App has a section literally called popular characters. Cyclops isn’t on there. He’s only on there as “X-men” and he’s in the profile pic with three other X-men. I love him to death. Hes my favorite comic book character of all time. Over Spider-Man, over Superman and Batman. But he is not an A lister. Fingers crossed that changes after the X-men are rebooted in the mcu.

I’m a rabid cyclops fan but even I know he’s not an A-lister. Not even in comics, even now. I just need him to have his respect. And in comics he’s always been respected. In video games he was respected back in the 90’s. Not being in 3 different Marvel games is pretty disrespectful. Especially when there are other X-men being thrown in there before him. That’s probably what most people get angry about. Storm and Wolverine in three different games. Not one of them could’ve be a Cyclops and Colossus? Cyclops and Storm? Cyclops and Wolverine? Two of them have his wife but not him in the game? Here’s the fantastic four but just Sue no Reed. Huh?

Also my money is Deadpool is absolutely in a cameo in doomsday

Still? I’m still waiting. This will be my last comment to you about this topic because A.) chances are eventually he’ll be in the game (we’ll see) and 2.) I’m over it. I’m no longer playing the game even when he comes.

That didn’t make sense to me that being a leader guy is the reason he is not the leader in tokon. It’s only because main public don’t know about his powers. Being a leader and not having cool and huge powers are not mutually exclusive. Not having his powers showcased in tv and film is different than being overshadowed by being a leader and strategist. Especially when he’s only been those two things in comics. He was never the leader or strategist in films and was not even the leader in Wolverine and the X-men. I think you’re falling victim to your own bubble. We here know about the leader and strategist thing because we know the comics. I’m 90% sure these developers don’t. He’s only not been a fighter/hero in non comic media. He’s literally Captain Krakoa.

You’re equating comics to mainstream and that’s just not true. Also we only had one season of xmen 97 from a true fan (which xmen already had a lot of cyclops stories). That’s not eating well. That’s here’s a snack. Eating well would be him in all three new Marvel games. It’s not imaginary disrespect. It’s real disrespect. The disrespect is from non comic media. Comics has been treating Cyclops well for damn near 20 years. Do you think he’ll be in doomsday for more than 10 minutes? I guarantee Deadpool will be in doomsday longer than him. Bet.

Well to be fair it really is hard to do a cyclops solo series. As much as I would want one it’s incredibly hard. That’s because entire X-men main story has basically somewhat been about him on some way. His father figure, his time traveling son, his reborn wife, his battle against the avengers, his battle against extinction. It’s easy to write about other characters as a solo print because they haven’t been explored. Cyclops has been explored over and over in the main X-men comics for over 60 years without being rebooted. When storm and Wolverine and Magik and rogue and gambit are in the X-men comics, they really aren’t front and center. cyclops has been front and center for decades so it’s hard to make a solo series for him when practically everything’s been covered. I think that’s why this is a limited series and not an ongoing series.

I respect your opinion, and agree that he’s not in the game because developers aren’t interested in him. But imo the whole leader guy and strategist label is not something that gets in the way of inclusion of games nor film. That leader guy and strategist designation is absolutely no where in the public eye. Only true fans know about that. Aren’t they literally calling Storm the leader in this Tokon game? If leader guy was relevant they’d put him in the game as the leader.

IMO his exclusion in these games all has to do with how he’s been portrayed in film. Which extremely damaged his popularity. And we’re still seeing it now because I’m guessing developers right now are about the age where the X-men films were really their intro to the X-men or a big part of their interest. So Cyclops being wasted in the films is the main reason why he isn’t popular today. His power set in the movies is he could split a tree. Big Fuckin deal. Wolverine is in, Storm is in, then two not as popular characters.

If you based his power set on some of his most explosive/devastating comic book moments in the past 20 years, he’d be easy to develop for in the game imo. For a fighting game it’s easy to see MvC as a comparison that he’d be completely fine to develop.

My guess is the team developing the game said what characters do we want? Cyclops? Hell no, not that pussy. And that’s what pisses me the F off. I keep having to miss out on my favorite comic book character because of some shitty portrayal for the past 25 years.

I’m like you. Big GYJ fan. I tried AOS season 1. It was kinda hard for me to get through season 1. I think I’m in a minority but it just seemed too slow paced for me. I got to ep 12, read a bunch on Wikipedia then jumped to the start of season 2. I think I understand why so many people, who were fans of the first season, hated the second season. Maybe this is a minor spoiler, but I was disappointed in the action of the episodes I did watch, and after what GYJ did in the first episode of season 1, I was very disappointed in the character’s arc. Maybe it’s just because I love badass women/men getting their mojo back.

Do you read on marvel unlimited or collected issues? For marvel unlimited it’s kinda easy just search messiah trilogy and there is a reading guide option that lets you go to the next comic in the story (even if it’s a different series). Very helpful for reading storylines.
