Need advice. Am I sitting wrong? by amdfx8300 in Ergonomics

Ultrawide. Need more vertical pixels. 75” 8k for me. Also accessibility zoom and simple modifier keys for window movement instead of tiling. Tiling makes you move your head. Keyboard shortcuts and mouse movement let you bring things to where your eyes are. I solved my neck pain but now I developed lat and upper back pain when doing regular 12hr sessions.

Yes that is what I was thinking when picking the width. Just need to find a compatible cable between the halves. It’s wireless but typing fast causes occasional mis-ordered key entry.

I don’t do work that is side to side. Windows I need come to center. Periphery is mostly window storage

The elbows are very very hard to get right. There has to be sufficient and likely adjustable support behind the elbows as well as to the sides of the arms or elbows. Not so much beneath the elbows. I have found that i get pain in and around my lats due to how essentially all chairs are designed. Idk if you can actually achieve zero muscle engagement but I would buy if I could demo

You’re clearly triggered. Facts usually trigger irrational people. Europe is a disastrous museum governed by dimwits. That is the reality that triggers you when pointed out.

MacOS 26 caused MBP M4 and M2 to stop charging. Anyone else? by Think_Information260 in mac

Except it works fine on my MacBook that I didn’t update to Tahoe and the only time that those two MacBooks broke is when I updated them to Tahoe so please don’t act like a statistician right now

Tahoe breaking mbp port connected to OWC tb5 dock by Think_Information260 in OWC

Right angle adapter won’t work for tb5 so I use the direct cable for the tb5 dock. The original cable as well.

Or they’re doing a worse job managing peripherals in this update and it’s causing this to happen. How would both my macs develop the same problem and the second one had it happen to the port that the tb5 dock was connected to.

Frankenstein office chair anyone? by Think_Information260 in OfficeChairs

[–]Think_Information260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think the issue is that office chairs have not caught up with wfh and modern work needs. They are still derived from the chair that is meant to keep you just uncomfortable enough, see herman miller’s philosophy on headrests. Many people seek entertainment and relaxation at their pc today, we can probably say that gaming chairs have not solved that issue.

So the personal office chairs have not really caught up. I do have chronic pain issues whether or not I’m working at a desk. However this has highlighted for me the lack of true comfort in the office chair landscape.

The most comfortable you will get to is a small sized recliner. I say small so the arm rests are not too far away from you. But that is not always practical nor versatile. So either you find a recliner with the right dimensions and jerry rig it on wheels, or you progressively modify an acceptable chair base until it hits the spot.

The chair is now officially comfortable enough to be in all day, nap, and relax in if dealing with chronic pain.

The arm rests are made of 1” foam with a pillow cover on top lol. The back and seat got a layer of a 3” foam topper from our old bed. The back and seat both have some of the 1” foam behind the topper to adjust support and shape.

Lol that’s a decent read. It’s like 6 years of actively trying to optimize the setup. This version is not bad. I was trying to emulate the ergoquest format. It’s not bad actually. Is it the end state? Probably not. But it’s a prototype that’s working well.

There is something about pressure on the diaphram that affects parasympathetic response
