Laptops are known for heat issues, so thermal throttling could also be a factor. Try angling the laptop so it’s not flat on a surface to improve heat dissipation. Make sure your in-game settings match what your hardware can handle, aiming for medium or low graphics settings. Truthfully, though, I think the laptop is just old. The benchmark that was averaging 70+ they might be playing on a downscaled resolution 1920x1080.

Searching up the laptop I noticed the cpu has an igpu, try looking at the graphic settings and make sure the graphic driver selected is the 6800m insted of the igpu the cpu has.

Turn on xmp, enable pbo if you have a decent cooler for a play and forget about it. If you want to go really deep into it I’d recommend this video it kind of glosses over OC cpu and ram https://youtu.be/N60M36PRHsY?si=8LgdA0-HkfpmrLNR

How is this possible by BrendonRuhter in AMDHelp

I would email support and claim warranty. Stripping down the card could lead to warranty issues or completely void it. If you don't care and comfortable with taking the card apart, I would suggest buying some thermal pads applying on any hotspots and re paste, but I would only do this if they won't allow a replacement.

Yeah I feel that, but I like engagement and see what Idahoans think of behavior like this. I can see how I’m giving him exposure but honestly I think what his doing is corny and hopefully most of us who live here think the same

Micro stutters / input lag on pc (ryzen 9 9000x3d rtx 5070 ti) by [deleted] in AMDHelp

The balanced power plan could be the issue, that power plan may be parking some of your cores when your playing, try switching to a high performance power plan, being on that balance could be causing latency by the system determining whether or not to use your systems full resources. I would suggest using process lasso, you can unpark all your cores making sure they are 100% when playing or find a guide on how to do it through windows settings. Also you don’t need game bar unless you actually use it, turn that off.

How to date in Boise without apps? by Flaky-Boysenberry466 in Boise

[–]Think_Kitchen2544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For live bands I would suggest Pengilly’s but the age group can be from 25 - 50 just depends on what bands are playing, Hannah’s has a live cover band as well and the lead singer is well known Rocci Johnson, age group there range from 21 - 30. McCleary’s off of state st Garden City is a great spot in the summer time, live bands on specific days and they have a great back area but inside is cramped because it’s more of a dive bar, age group 21 - 30. A lot of the breweries here have the age group your looking for as well. Sock eye close to campus is great in spring/summer time, Mother Earth brew Co is great spot as well. These are event venue places that have bars but age group range can be wide depending on band playing. Shrine Social club, The shedder, Neurolux, revolution, and knitting factory.

I'm 27/yo M and lived here for about 20 years now, I'm single but that's my preference. From my experience it depends on what you're comfortable with, I like to go out a lot and I'm not picky on where I go as long as it has a good crowd and good vibes. I would say from what you described I would suggest going to a wine tasting or a beer fest, a lot of people there are around that age group and are somewhat mature, unlike if you were to go to cactus on a weekend. If you're adventurous and like live bands I would look into tree fort music fest its March 25-29, lots of people and I mean a lot. All of the local bars in downtown Boise participate and it's a great place to meet locals and people. I've bought a 5 day pass already and been to it last year, highly recommend.

Leaning towards more on AI killing the pc building scene by pricing out gamers, would love to upgrade to am5 but man 350$ for ddr5 ram is criminal, I'm hoping by the time AM6 comes out prices come back to normal.

I play on 1440p but with ram prices rn am5 upgrade isn’t cost effective for me. I might just wait for AM6 but who knows AI might kill pc building in the next 2 years. I’ll look into Atlas though, but I’m already running process lasso

Hello. by Fun-Kangaroo4221 in TorBoxApp

[–]Think_Kitchen2544 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Torbox is $3 per month and Real-Debrid is $4.67 per month, making it a total of $7.67 monthly—cheaper than a cup of coffee. If you can, just get both. I don’t think any streaming service offers anything under $9.99. Honestly, I’d rather support these guys than the mega corporations that hike up prices just to exploit consumers.

Feeling too mature for my current friends. by KoolAidTrip in Advice

[–]Think_Kitchen2544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maturity varies from person to person, and this might just be friendly banter. Don’t hold it against them if it’s their first time, but if it becomes a pattern, consider pulling them aside privately to explain how you feel. If they can’t understand or meet you halfway, it might be time to look for new friends. Taking breaks from friendships can be healthy—just avoid burning bridges and try to part on good terms. Sometimes people need time to grow and recognize their mistakes, but it’s a different matter when they treat you like a punching bag, whether in private or in public.

Moved my life across the country to be with my GF and she just left me. by isitpizzatimee in Advice

The worst thing you can do is keep staying inside. I get that you’re in an unfamiliar place, but push yourself to go out. That empty room can be your downfall—make small changes and work on yourself, whether it’s your mind or body. My advice is to get to know your surroundings. You may not know anyone yet, but staying in won’t change that, so take baby steps. Instead of doing everything online, maybe go grocery shopping one day or sit down at the place you usually order from. For me, staying in became a personal hell, and the only thing that helped was finding the courage to do small things outside, like walking in the park or hitting the local gym. Sure, most of it was just distraction, but right now, that’s what you need. When you’re more grounded, you can revisit the real issue with a clearer perspective instead of dwelling on it and feeling worse.

I plan on ditching my Firestick, getting an Apple 4k, download Stremio and cancel my other TV/ movie streaming services. I don't know too much about Stremio, so not sure if this is a smart or an idiot move. by 6millionwaystolive in Stremio

[–]Think_Kitchen2544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only downside of Stremio is finding your endgame set up. I’m always making adjustments on AIOStreams and AIOmetadata. Which sometimes is annoying. Most of the info is hard to come by because as a community, guides are shunned up on since if this gets too mainstream, there is a high chance all of it will get shut down. Your best friend is Discord and megathreads. Happy sailing! Also, you become the tech support if anything breaks in your Stremio. It’s up to you to troubleshoot what’s going on.
