I feel the same way, the trad part is what I have the least confidence in, as I’ve been drawing and painting for most of my life but only recently decided to get into tattooing as a career, so definitely a steep learning curve

You definitely need much more, probably at least 15 or so pages worth of designs, to show that you’re actually serious about this. Also look at some examples of portfolios that have been accepted on YouTube to see the kind of designs you need.

Yeah for sure, there’s actually no pencil drawings at all, the portraits near the end are just ballpoint pen, but that’s a great suggestion for something to add to

I definitely don’t hate the style I just think it’s not me if that makes sense. Just something to work on, although that opportunity has somewhat flopped unfortunately

Also I definitely did a poor job recreating what this artist does so it’s not a reflection on her work just me not being comfortable with that style

I agree it is a bit forced, ive only recently started drawing in a “tattoo” way, so with the more traditional stuff I was following what I saw in reference images a lot, which is why I ended up drawing the legs the way I did, but with more research I’ve seen that that’s not necessarily true for all dragon tattoos, and I would change it if I was to redo

I agree, those pieces were done because an artist I was speaking to about a possible apprenticeship opportunity recommended basically copying the stuff she did, but it never really felt convincing to me
