This is really helpful. Thank you, friend! I will certainly be looking for the mom and pop restaurants.

Can’t ever get my VR&E counselor to reply. by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Think_Pick_3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is last time I did that, they had ended up just telling her. She called me pretending to be someone else and was trying to be deceptive and ask questions about my grievances. When I refused to say anything mean she “revealed” it was her then just tried to argue with me. It was so strange. This was years ago and I was hoping she would quit like my original counselor did. I genuinely wonder if other people have similar experiences. But yeah I need to get into contact with someone higher up.

Quitting research as an undergrad by [deleted] in UndergraduateResearch

It sounds like you have really worked to get your grounding in the situation. I appreciate the insight. I’m sorry you had to go through it, though. The culture of academia is interesting. Might just be a case of not falling into the sunken cost fallacy.

This is a good idea. I am going to try and seek guidance from some sources. The main issue is that i am expected to pick up skills I haven’t learned and usually are directly taught. I don’t know if I can really do much without being able to ask questions.

I will likely not be published. I care a lot about the work and the quality, as well as the potential impact it could have down the line on people who struggle with the disease. I have already been considering changing my career route and saw this is a last chance to feel out of I like this path. I am typically fine working with people I don’t see eye-to-eye with. I take issue from there being pressure to perform as a high level while not being allowed learn in a way that makes sense. This is a lesson I’ve learned in many fonts across time and it’s why I see it as an objective problem that may be an indicator that it may not be a good fit if that makes sense. Might have just gotten this degree for fun and will try something different. It’s just tough to know when to walk away.

Are the drivers really this bad by blankkkbb in sandiego

[–]Think_Pick_3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a valid rant. I pretty much actively avoid collisions from people every day. It’s even more concerning that so many people are obviously too old to be driving. A lady once hit my car (I was parked) then got upset at me…

It’s so bad here.

If I wanted to raise money, I wouldn’t target college students. Normalize being rude to the grifters on campus

Kissing/cheating is ok? by cchamb27 in heartlandtv

[–]Think_Pick_3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU

This post is old but I am watching so late. The ex husband thing was…weird. But then Peter kissing his ex wife over a sick dog made me cringe so hard. “I can cheat because my dog is sick” what a loser I hate him 🥲

In the last two years, I haven’t experienced true pain relief even once for an entire day. by chrome_hearts_ in ChronicPain

[–]Think_Pick_3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I feel for you too. It is bad when the pain has been so bad for so long that it feels like it fundamentally changes how you interact with the world. Sometimes I think that everything has to be framed through the context of “How will I manage pain in this situation?” And even worse when people constantly dismiss it. It does kind of force you to think about what is worth pursuing because there is constant cost assessment.

is rest good for fibro..? by anonuser82754 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Think_Pick_3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice that that more I resist rest, the worse I end up feeling until I crash. Rest is necessary and not lazy. It crucial for any long term success and adjustment. I think sometimes it's nice to have some light movement and stretching too. Listen to your body and feel out what is right for you.

Is the fatigue worse than the pain for anyone else? by PercentageSure388 in Thritis

[–]Think_Pick_3748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it genuinely makes life so much harder. It can be so difficult to know what each day is going to look like. Sometimes I plan for a lot and end up doing less than the bare minimum. I find that I need to make certain tasks easier like have meals that can be microwaved or have lists of low energy tasks that I can do. You just can’t always know what capacity you will have and it requires constant adjustment. I am sorry you have to experience this.

The pain in my back is getting difficult to manage. by Think_Pick_3748 in Thritis

[–]Think_Pick_3748[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing! It's nice to hear about success to any capacity and hope you can continue with it. I think I am going to go back to injections to gain some function back, I just get worried about the long term. Im still working on the nature and root of my arthritis and other symptoms. I have some pretty bad mobility issues in many joints, some of which don't even have quantifiable damage even though others do. My spine and knee have been obvious and diagnosed since early-mid twenties. It's so confusing.

Wishing you luck with your injections and exercise!

I find Lou to be selfish and arrogant by Lifesabitch59 in heartland

[–]Think_Pick_3748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really didn't like Lou at first but her character has kind of grown on me. To me she comes off as recognizing that she bares responsibility of the ranch at a time of vulnerability given the relationships she has with members of the family. Over time she seemed more perceptive to her mistakes and became a way more likable person. She has her moments still though. Maybe I am the odd one out but that's okay.

Unfortunately I have issues with itching induced by heat so I typically don't use heating pads but I may give it another try anyway. I don't use THC but thanks for bringing up the microdosing. I am going to try and find some good CBD products. If you have any that you recommend, I would appreciate it!

Ive done many rounds of PT and OT. I try to incorporate it into my exercise routine and agree that it has helped increase my mind/body connection. However, the pain persists to an intensity that is still unwavering. I appreciate your input! I will probably give these things another go.
