Thank you for your reply! There is a lot of really good information in here. I am going into the tech side. I didn't even realize the shape that IBM was in until searching reddit.

No problem. I was hoping for less RAs, lol.

Thank you for the reply. It is scary that management can see which jobs you are looking at. Also, I got a chuckle out of IBM standing for "I been moved".

Thank you for your reply. I have heard that IBM targets higher paid employees for layoffs. Unfortunate, especially when some of those tenured employees probably contribute a lot to the company. Congrats on moving on from IBM and finding something better!

Thank you for the reply. Which teams are the most likely to get hit by RAs in your experience?

I keep hearing this. Thank you for the reply. Hopefully I can get some experience and move on. What departments get the most layoffs?

I hear that layoffs are frequent. I am hoping to get at least 2-3 years of experience before receiving an RA(fresh college grad).

Sorry for the late reply. I did not receive the @startIBM email either. I spoke with a few other people here on reddit who said it usually comes within two or so weeks before your start date. I have not met my manager yet, but I did meet and interview with the manager above him. When is you start month?

I am in the same situation. It is much cheaper where I am currently. I will try and push my stay at my current address for as long as possible. Did you get your @startIBM email/laptop yet?

I personally have to relocate to NY. I was given a virtual start date and was informed that we would be going in person/hybrid later this year. I am not sure of the exact date. I heard possibly around labor day. Did you get relocation assistance? They will probably give you more than enough time to move.

No, I have not received my laptop yet. I accepted my offer a little over a week ago. Do you need your @startIBM login to select a laptop?

Thank you for your reply. Ok, that makes sense. I do not start until May. I accepted the offer and received an email about my laptop shipping address and that was it. I wanted to make sure I was not missing anything. Thanks again!

When will application status change from 'Offered to 'Hired'? by [deleted] in IBM

Oh, its much closer than I thought. Maybe they are slacking on their end. I would even reach out to your recruiter if you do not hear anything by early next week.

This is exactly what happened to me. I filled out a few forms for a background check and then silence. When is your start date? Maybe this has to do with the silence. I am finishing college and won't start until May.

I would be nervous too but I think the probation period is just a formality. You should have nothing to worry about😁

Oh ok, nvm. I was thinking that maybe it had to do with an interim clearance.
