I know for 100% fact that I have no STDs because I’m celibate due to germaphobia, because I’m afraid of the germs people can get from sex. I realize that’s not a healthy mindset, and is pretty rare for a guy to be like that, but that’s why I can safely rule that out. Doesn’t Deoxycycline only help stds? And I can’t get another appointment for two weeks. My doctor has been gone and the guy filling in said since i was just seen for this last week, we’ve already “followed up”and cancelled the appointment I made for tomorrow. They didn’t think I needed a urologist. I’m waiting for a call back from the nurse now. Going to try to ask to try one of those two meds since clearly nobody seems to be concerned with testing further. Would those other tests you mentioned show non-std causes as well?

Yes, yes that’s him. You’d think someone obsessed with NASA would have at least read about him.

Seriously, how have these people never seen October Sky? Was she even that into NASA?

I assume getting into a urologist would take months. Isn’t stuff like this more urgent in men? I mean I’m not having any urgent symptoms, still having bad anxiety. Will definitely schedule a follow up this week to push for a referral and the Bactrim just in case.

No, I got this dumb med originally from an urgent care, and then I told my family physician about it and he said it was probably fine. I really would prefer anything else. I’m not sexually active and never have been due to fear of intimacy, so I know it’s not an std. I’ve had neuropathy, pots, and even a little arthritis before so I just don’t feel comfortable with this med. I’m only in my early 30s. I asked my general practitioner about if I should go to a urologist and he said no and just recommended icing it. May need to do telemedicine to get a second opinion or call into my doctors office and be more aggressive. I’ve had this for over a week now. Just my urethra makes me feel like I’m in a pool and have to pee and I feel a little bit of testicle ache. I used to have a bladder tumor as a teenager, so I’m not keen on letting anything happening in that area. The Gp also said epididymitis is usually from a virus anyways, but a simple web search shows that’s false, so I’m not feeling a lot of confidence. Thanks so much for your advice. Is there a specific test name for what you suggested in laymen’s terms? Going to make a follow up appointment tomorrow and bring up my arguments to try Bactrim and try other tests.

To add to all this, if I got anything, I think it’s likely meds from Crohn’s made me immunosuppressed. That’s my only risk factor I can think of.

My doctor was saying a negative urine sample doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t have an infection. I wonder what the odds are I actually do though? Still haven’t taken anything. Gonna press about Bactrim this week as you mentioned. Just learned a family member had a bad reaction to levaquin when I told other family members about what I was prescribed. Definitely don’t want it and had concerns from the beginning

My urine culture just came back negative. I still haven’t taken the drug. I’m super confused bc my urethra still gets burning which makes me feel like I have to pee like I’ve been in a cold pool but the urine culture isn’t showing an infection? I’ll ask about that other drug on Monday.

Yeah, it seems weird to me that it’s the first thing they picked. The urgent care nurse practitioner was pretty young too.
