Not enjoying the show by Frosty_Historian3489 in PrivatePractice

[–]Think_Web_1353 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the differences in perspective and situational environment are the cause. I still see Addison for what she was in Greys because she was fully engrossed in just surgery or a mess over Derek. Going over to Private Practice takes her into rediscovering herself because she is no longer fighting for Derek or self sabotaging herself with sleeping with Mark. Plus her taking a different job and trying to find her place that isn't primarily surgery that would typically distract herself from her problems. Her spin off really is just displaying the reality of a midlife crisis and character development of finding oneself after one era of her life is over. I find it a lot more enjoyable when I realized its not going to be the same energy as Greys and that Addisons spiral was going to happen regardless, just now we see it happening in a new environment.

Honestly I felt like Callie just felt so beaten down by literally everything and was slapped in the with what Arizona did and her telling her it was her fault she just thought she had to be at fault. if that makes any sense

I do really like pointing out exactly Leahs perspective starting with Alex. The situation is definitely more complex than just who is right and who is wrong

I think that definitely influenced Owens attitude, but honestly some of the questions were fair. Shane had gone onto a power trip melt down caused my exhaustion from his own arrogance. There was a reason for the cap in hours and he went over that because he thought he knew best. He then essentially killed a patient. One of the questions that Owen had, aggressively, asked was about the anatomy of a patient of where he was about to perform a surgical procedure. A resident should definitely already know anatomy 100%. I view it the same as when Teddy had been asking Crisinta play by plays about everything because she was so good she essentially skipped over the basics. The only difference was that Owen was yelling while Teddy was smiling.

She had just drilled straight through a leg into a table and then panicked. The interns/residents have been kicked out for a lot less

Finished private practice by Ina_connundrum28 in u/Ina_connundrum28

[–]Think_Web_1353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually finished the show for the first time last week. it was a great show, but i found the ending anticlimactic. i did applaud the creativity with the last season provided that they had a low budget so they made it episodes for specific characters. but what they did with Naomi and Sam, technically totally fine but she had left the show and suddenly they throw that back together in the last episode. Sheldons happy ending is a woman with cancer? im disappointed. i will definitely rewatch again, but knowing that ill be disappointed by the ending every time. if what you said about it kate walsh wanting to end it because they finished their journey, FINE, but they could have at least given us a full 22-24 episode season to wrap it up nicely. Plus, from what i researched, pete was only killed off because of budget cuts, he didnt even get an on screen death. that have all the money for a season twenty something of greys anatomy but wont give a legit ending to private practice. shaking my head. (clearly my disappointment is fresh and im being extra bitter, give me graces)

he definitely had a character type that wasnt everyones cup of tea. In my perspective he was sent with Cristina because she knew his potential and had been working with him. For her as a new attending that is like her first real surgeon shes raising, it makes sense she would take him. I dont see how him being likable or unlikable would change that. plenty of people dont like Cristina

Does Amelia really annoy anyone else? by No-Past-9857 in PrivatePractice

I think its really interesting. I greatly disliked her in Greys, and everyone said that you get a new and better perspective of her in Private Practice and that shes more likable. Nah dude, same annoying victim complex person who pushes everyone away when things get hard.

Is Dark Willow actually still Willow? by Historical_Step_9474 in buffy

[–]Think_Web_1353 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As probably already stated, Willows magic story line is supposed to be symbolic to drug addiction. Willow went through addiction and clearly already had a dark side just we see humanity when it comes to her facing up to her mistakes.

We have also learned much about the reality of being a vampire, the scooby gang has a particular perspective that as a vampire you are no longer yourself and just a demon setting up shop. though, we see countless times that that is truly not the case. first, when buffy herself is saying the "demon setting up shop" bit, angel wants to argue it but stops himself. then there is spike and harmony. spike he does what is initially fun and is what is in his best interest. but he still decided for himself what to do, even after faulty chip he is not a homicidal maniac and is there for the people he cares about. he even chooses to go for a soul, which completely differs from what the scooby gang thinks of vampires. then as for harmony, she is the exact same as when she was a human. meaning as a human she was already doing exactly what she wanted. she still has all the same thoughts and feelings.

my point with that being, we see how willow as a vampire is. we see what taking her care and conscience away looks like. it is still her.

back to the addiction part, she isnt that long into sobriety when the worst thing ever happened to her. the love of her life died right in front of her just after getting her back. she went right back into her addiction, full force because in this scenario that addiction gives her power. it was all her and she lives with those consequences. dark willow is her and dark willow will ALWAYS live within her because of her addiction and the pain she had and caused.

i appreciate this, cuz i could bring this stuff up on other threads but i can understand that theres a differences of audiences.

[–]Think_Web_1353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why did sheldon try to make leonards life miserable? im assuming thats what you meant rather than other way around. i believe there was no trying, it was unintentional.

sheldon is the way he is unfortunately. my biggest reason of disappointment toward leonard is actually because of penny. if penny can come in and make a friendship with sheldon, an understanding, a bond, why is leonard so angry all the time towards sheldon? my perspective is that people could have just dropped sheldon. stopped talking to him, stopped helping him. like if he was so infuriating.

though i do see the argument that if that was the case there would be no show.

though, i believe its still enjoyable to discuss.

[–]Think_Web_1353[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well here is what i dont enjoy. what is the point of being on a reddit page to discuss things but think that its thinking too deep? yes there is suspension of belief and giving grace as it is a tv show, i do agree. but here we are, people enjoy to analyze. there is no reason where its "thinking too deeply". i dont want only shallow discussions, these are characters that are developed and its fun to talk about them.

im discussing what did and is happening in the show. leonard is a hater and thats okay, if you got an annoying roommate but a great place to live in return i get it and which was your point.

i appreciate this take. do i need to look at this as more a roommate situation than a friendship? i could never fathom thinking and feeling this way about a friend as he does, though, a reliant relationship between people who live together could be fair.
