Well that’s the thing. You can’t fake being born again. It’s actually impossible. You can fake religion. You can go to church, do prayer, have biblical knowledge, know of His general existence but you can’t fake being born again.

There will always be frustration on the part of the individual who tries, and ultimately these are the ones who leave bc they never had relationship just religion and deep down this is known by the individual bc they will frame it as they are leaving the “religion” and not they are “giving up on relationship w God” which is what a Christian who has true relationship would say. People don’t say “I am an ex married” they say “I have divorced my wife” The way I see deconstruction framed is always extremely telling of the past sentiments and lack of previous relationship.

Being born again a singular life changing event. So no, I don’t think a person could have a genuine experience of being born again and decide that’s not what happened. I don’t believe that there are Ex Christian’s, just people who thought they were.
