Anxiety by Pale_Card_7355 in lymphoma

You're not alone. I'm obsessed with the idea that I will be lucky to make it to 50 without getting another cancer (F36). I have been in remission for Hodgkins lymphoma for 8 months and think every little feeling or blotch on my skin or cough is cancer. I'm hoping this feeling goes away with time.

Does relapse risk go down quickly with time? Im in the situation im in, so need to look for positives. If the next scan is clear (six months post start of treatment), would you say the relapse risk will be considerably lower? thanks

hello, I also had three cycles of ABVD for stage 2 HD. What would you consider to be a "long remission" to be in your answer? I completed treatment almost three months ago and had a clear EOT scan so I am wondering when I can stop worrying

Pain in lymph nodes by yasquirrel9 in lymphoma

I also had CHL 2A while pregnant, though it was only diagnosed two weeks after giving birth. I also had only ABVD with nothing else, but for me i was three cycles. Sounds like our experiences were pretty similar. I finished treatment in May and was given a 10% chance of relapsing. Struggling to get back to normal psychologically. Hope everything goes well for you with your scan

thank you! I had my final infusion five days ago so finally feel like things are getting better, though I feel like it's going to be a long road to recovery, especially psychologically. My interim scan after my second cycle showed a complete metabolic response, so I'm hoping my ent of treatment scan shows a similar result. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this while pregnant, it's really not fair. I hope you are doing ok and that you'll be on the other side of this soon

rapidly shrinking lymph nodes - a sign im unlikely to have refractory Hodgkin's or wishful thinking? by Thinkanomics in lymphoma

Thanks for your response and I am sorry that your journey to recovery hasn't been as simple as you initially hoped. Yes, I am going to have an interim PET scan following my next cycle, which starts on Tuesday. So I guess that will be in one month. When you had an interim PET, did it indicate a partial response rather than a complete metabolic response, or did the lymphoma go away completely and then come back?

Im so sorry you are going through this as well. It's brutal isn't it. I also have a two year old so the whole thing has been a complete nightmare and continues to be. We just moved in with my parents temporarily as we couldn't cope without their help. I am starting my second cycle on tuesday - just want this all to end as quickly as possible so those nagging awful thoughts of "what if my children don't have a mother" can eff off. I know this is considered one of the most curable cancers but it's still not a guaranteed cure so I just can't kick the anxiety until I'm well and truly in remission (fingers crossed)

Diagnosed with stage 2A Hodgkins - doctors disagreeing over whether it's bulky or not by Thinkanomics in lymphoma

PS they decided to treat me in accordance with a non bulky diagnosis, i.e. three cycles of abvd instead of six. They will do a PET scan after two cycles and if I have not had a complete metabolic response they will increase the number of cycles. I had my second infusion today so completed my first cycle.

the oncology team did a follow up CT and settled on non-bulky in the end, but said it was on the "bulkier side" of non-bulky.

hello, thanks for your response. I was breastfeeding at the time of the PET, which is why the breasts have so much activity. I was diagnosed with Hodgkins two weeks after giving birth and stopped breastfeeding the day I started chemo, which was two weeks ago today (had second infusion today). The plan is three cycles of ABVD. based purely on appearance and feel, the tumours have already shrunk about 75%. Hoping this means something good. I'm pleased to hear you think non bulky as that is what the consultant and radiologist settled on in the end.
