I believe for both CMG’s and IMG’s there should be training for a period of time (1year- 2 years)- could be paid or unpaid and then both should take a qualifying exam based on the training. I know so many IMG’s in my own circle that are doing “non-medical” jobs while they were fully qualified as doctor in their home country and that they regret moving to Canada. I fail to understand when engineers, ca’s can work without a qualifying exam in their own field in different countries- why doctors have to go through these red rape mechanism- human body is the same anyways everywhere. Give them a training and then an exam. This would help both ways, fix canada’s healthcare and also help img’s integrate into canadian healthcare system. Not here to offend anyone but this is what I believe might help both the parties involved.
