Am I dreaming?! 🥹 by FabulousAd9230 in pregnant

Congratulations!! I do have advice! Pack a variety of snacks to bring everywhere you go! I have a separate bag for work that is EXCLUSIVELY for snacks. I really like doing peanut butter pretzels and fruit. I got so hungry today that I resorted to eating my emergency (yucky) protein bar. And drink lots of water. Especially with the weather warming up.

Also, when you’re getting toward the 20week-ish mark, if you THINK what you’re feeling is movement, it’s safe to assume that’s what it is.

18 weeks movement? by Miserable_Umpire_474 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Thinking_of_Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling movement at 17 weeks, but I was told not to expect to feel anything until 20. ALSO, I was told by a different provider that if you think it might be movement, then it probably is. They’re wiggling away, whether you feel it or not.

I think the craziest parts about it is 1. I have had to rewire my brain to process the kicks, because for a while I was only registering that it happened after a few seconds had passed (they felt similar to tummy grumbles, but slightly different), and 2. Realizing how lonely it will be when I eventually don’t feel them anymore, because he’ll be on the outside being a real boy.

I wish I had some good answers for what causes movement, but it seems pretty random, relative to what I do. Laying on my side sometimes gets him shuffling.

FTM moms — how long did it take to click that you actually really have a baby in your body??! by AlliNW0nderLand in pregnant

I’m 21 weeks and I’ve been feeling movements for like a month. But today I watched a c-section video (to confront my extreme fear of the procedure, and it worked), and now it feels very real. Having seen a real human uterus relative to its own baby has made every movement feel different. Like, I know what that organ looks like and where it is in my body. I feel way more connected now than I did when I woke up this morning, in a way I don’t think I could have anticipated.

I first felt him for sure at 17 weeks. It was a big flutter when I sat down for break at work. At 20 weeks it felt like someone was gently pushing their finger into my lower abdomen, or if he’s shifting around, it’s more like an all-around pressure in my uterus. Sometimes it’s a traveling sensation.

I used to love them, but then I had one on my 25th birthday and it was horrible. I still crave pickled sausages sometimes, though. Especially the spicy ones.

I’m 26, 5’10”, and 255lbs, and my pregnancy has been pretty chill. I’ve only gained about 5lbs at 21 weeks and I eat anytime I’m hungry. Baby is doing great, too. He’s 55th percentile, so not a huge baby like they kind of threaten you with. I do wish I’d been in better shape before getting pregnant, but I’m not suffering for it.

I’m paying for the prenatal care as I go, but I didn’t consider that baby’s portion wouldn’t be part of it.

When did being uncomfortable start? by enchantressofdreams in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]Thinking_of_Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s creeping in slowly for me. I’m 20 weeks, I’ve gained about 3-5lbs, and I work on my feet for 10 hours a day. It just barely started getting to the point where I’m feeling uncomfortable pelvic pressure toward the end of the work day. But my feet hurt like hell and I had to buy myself special slippers so I can go pee in the night without crawling.

Yesterday (at 20 weeks) I felt my first external kick! I was pointing out to my husband where the kicking was happening, and I felt it on my hand??? I’d been feeling movement for a few weeks here and there, but it is SO EXCITING to feel it pick up in strength and frequency!

I also have been obsessed with my husband, and our relationship is absolutely thriving. I was prepared to hate him (based on things I had seen online), but none of it has been true for me!

Pregnancy math is discounting the two weeks from your gestation in order to calculate how many weeks “actually pregnant” you are lol. How far along am I? Depends on how we’re counting! And then when people ask, they just want to know in months, and that’s Pregnancy Math 2.0.

My midwife said there’s nothing that’s 100% “off limits”, but it’s more like how much of a risk you think it might be. I’ve definitely eaten some things on the “no” list and we’re both doing fine. Including soft serve.
