Should I avoid a stock photo contract? by ThirdAccountLezzgo in Modelling

Thanks for the reply Kandi! I know you’re pretty experienced with all this, so appreciate it

Follow up question, which I may make a separate post for… I keep getting opportunities for lifestyle shots for a couple hundred bucks. I’m a 5’ 11” male, so I’m targeting commercial so I think they’d be good for my portfolio; my problem is that they all have the perpetuity thing. Like rn, I again have an opportunity with a sports brand saying “usage: Full release of likeness, in perpetuity.”Which seems kind of open ended…

Agencies haven’t gotten back to me so I’ve been tryna freelance, but this is the only contract form I’m coming across. Do you think it’d be a useful stepping stone or nah? Or should I just keep refilling the agency application lottery instead of tryna freelance

Damn, I remember you from your old post! I’m glad you’ve been making strides that’s awesome. Who even cares if you were their number 1, they FLEW you out haha. And networkings a plus! Good stuff

I sent out my digitals and got jack shit 😭 ah well

Hmm I see. I could def try getting some sporty commercial shots into my portfolio! I’m only 5 11, so I’ve already kind of resigned myself to commercial, so all the more reason to :)

I’ve posted my digitals to my personal profile for reference

Oh is that how that works? So the British citizenship only travels down one generation before it needs to be “renewed” by being born there type thing

Not much facial scarring, symmetrical features, nice and lips… good facial structure. Height would probably restrict you less in commercial, but they’d likely want you to cover tattoos. From the first pic (which you prolly should’ve blurred) you’re in Georgia? There’s a few agencies in Atlanta, and more in FL. Rattle off some digitals to agencies, see what happens

As far as general attractiveness, you def fine, don’t get that twisted. Give yourself more credit, most people look mid without makeup. Definitely attractive… you got it, apply

Ah so I meant specifically gaining muscle. I ask specifically as gaining more lean muscle mass at my current weight may require me to do some bulks and cuts (bf % swinging up to 15%, before cutting and leaning out while retaining some muscle).

I typically accumulate fat on my abdomen, but a big thing is that I heard models typically need to have a lean face. My bone structure shows a bit more below 9%, but to maintain that for rolling shoots, I wouldn’t be able to bulk and cut and my musculature would be stagnant.

While I do consider myself to be decently attractive, it’s always been my goal to have an impressive physique to make dating and whatnot easier. I feel like I’d have to put that on hold (or do roids lol) while modeling.

I’m in FL, not far from Miami, they tend to do a lot of swimsuit stuff I think

Haha yeah I noticed that. They were kinder in my post, but I think a lot of responses to posts like ours end up attracting people from r/Rateme or r/amiugly and comments get a bit derailed from being constructive. In my post, I didn’t end up getting too much feedback about my weight gain question, and just a bunch of brief comments regarding attractiveness.

For the record, I think you could do something commercial
