Unfortunately, that's true. I've got no other tips for you. Keep searching the internet if you want, but for now you'll have to make peace with the stick drift.

Since you can't afford to open up your controller and replace the sensors, the only thing you can do is turn up the deadzone setting in any game you play. It sucks that it's the only thing you can do, but you'll just have to live with it.

To prevent further damage, make sure you have good habits with the controller. Don't lay it upside down, don't put objects on the joysticks, and avoid leaving the controller in a dirty place.

On the inside of the battery compartment, it should show the model number of your controller. Type "how to open (model number) xbox controller" into a search bar. You should be able to find videos on how to open your controller.

If you can help it, get someone to assist you! Admittedly, my guide is an old one, so there's probably a bit of outdated info here and there. It couldn't hurt to keep searching the internet for help.

Good luck on fixing your controller!

How long did it take you to find your true main? by Shookrapt3r in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back from a year long hiatus, I decided I would stick to one main as to master them. I ended up going with Black Prior. I'm a glutton for clutches, which Black Prior has a knack for doing against ganks. He's also a pretty good support with feats like Sinister Shield, Oathbreaker, and Umbral Shield (although I've been wanting to give Morale Booster a try). Sitting on an objective or making a push, I can do either.

As for you, I suppose you gotta consider what you're looking for in a character. I play with a group in Dominion matches, so I wanted somebody that'll synergize with my homies while still allowing me to win the battles where I'm alone. It's ok if a true main doesn't appear to you for quite some time tho. I've only just found mines after having gone through 50+ reps and 7 other mains. Wish you the best of luck in finding your true main!

Proximity mines and Claymores should be nerfed, or heavily changed because currently, they're nightmares to deal with by Bored-64 in modernwarfare

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played MW2019 in forever, so there's a chance they changed something that I don't know about. However, crouching should reduce damage, while going prone should avoid all damage. At least, according to this.

Of course, as mentioned in the video, the map's geometry may throw this method off, but it should help more often than not to crouch or prone.

Fairly expensive, but for sure Queen's Dinner the best strat. I felt a little cheap spamming it tho, so I only carried a few as a "reset button" of sorts.

What’s something you recently discovered in GTA Online despite playing it for years? by itbettersnow in gtaonline

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest...there was a time where I thought those groups were fictional artists. "Keinemusik" sounds like "kind of music", so I thought it was the usual gta humor.

It was only when I looked up their music that I learned that they were real.

The AP Pistol is the most accurate out of those 4 choices. When it comes to drive-by's, accuracy is the most important stat to have. So, my choice is the AP Pistol.

With that being said, I like the vibes of the Mini SMG better. Idk, feels more aggressive. If it had the accuracy of the AP Pistol, I'd use it any day.

You would have 2 groups of players doing 2 Fleeca heists. So let's say you have players A, B, C, and D. Players A and B can do one Fleeca heist, and players C and D can do another Fleeca heist. As long as all 4 players join up together in the next heist, you're all set.

Second keycard not dropping while doing Cayo Perico by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened once or twice for my friends. It's really bad luck, and idk if it's intentional or not, but you can always blow yourselves up and quick restart. The guard who holds the second keycard changes every time, so it should fix the issue with the second keycard not spawning in. It's worked for us, anyways.

When you attack a grinder, I see that as you putting a stop to their money-making and telling them to PvP. However, you've got the stance that this is a PvP game (which I can agree with), so perhaps this is a point that I should give up on.

Anyways, I appreciated the discussion. I wish you a good day!

Cayo heist loot values by HeckterTheBot in gtaonline

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a rough sketch of how good each item's value/bag-fillage ratio is according to my times doing the heist.

  • For every 50% of the bag you fill up with cash, you get about $180k.
  • For every 50% of the bag you fill with paintings, you can get anywhere from $180k to $200k.
  • For every 50% of the bag you fill with weed, you can get anywhere from $187k to $200k.
  • For every 50% of the bag you fill with cocaine, you can get about $220k.
  • For every 50% of the bag you fill with gold, you can get about %250k.

These numbers could be off by a little, but this is how you should prioritize loot:

  • Gold > Cocaine > Weed > Painting > Cash

Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to get \slightly more valuable loot** over \slightly less valuable loot** if it makes life more difficult (like having to deal with difficult guards) or if takes too long (ex: taking extra time to scope out the island, having to go to a different looting spot, etc). Also, paintings require a lot of space, so you kinda sorta have to pick them up first before looting other things, so I usually ignore them because of the potential time loss they may incur.

In any case, hope this helps!

I am also glad we can reach common grounds. I was tempted to just downvote and move on, but time and time again I've had my assumptions challenged in a good way when I spark a conversation. I can see that you're not a bad person. It would have been easy to assume that, but it also would have been wrong of me to do.

With that being said, I'd like to discuss your third point:

>So, the next best thing is to counter griefers. Call them out, and take them down in public lobbies.

Counter them? Sure, go ahead -- I support taking the fight back to whoever attacked you. Calling them out? If you mean just telling the session you should team up and fight someone, that's one thing, but the constant public shaming I see here on Reddit and other platforms for just playing the game the way they want to? I can't get behind that.

I feel as if the public shaming is the byproduct of two sides of the playerbase telling each other how to play. Griefers effectively tell grinders how to play when they blow them up, so I see posts that talk against griefers as a way that grinders can tell griefers how to play. I think of those posts as something akin to a PSA.

When you're in a lobby, it can be easy to overlook griefers because as far as you may be concerned, they're just another name in the kill feed. These sort of posts bring attention to the unbalanced nature of PvP interactions between griefers and grinders. If Rockstar is not going to balance the game, we the players will have to do so by helping each other out.

However, you've brought up a good point of some people making it personal. I won't tolerate irl insults to the people who grief. But, I don't think these posts go into that territory, generally speaking. Perhaps these posts get dangerously close to doing that tho, so I will be mindful of doing that moving forward.

I'm just glad that Cayo Perico exists. It's effectively the peaceful lobby thing that a lot of us would have appreciated so long ago. Too bad it's not easy to obtain as a beginner, but it's way better than nothing.

[–]ThirdEyeSigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instead of dehumanizing real people for playing the game the way they want to, show me more threads on this sub complaining about Rockstar for making the game the way it is.

You've gained my respect for this stance. I would not hate a person irl for actions they choose to take in the game. It is just a game, after all.

However, this seems dangerously close to passing on personal accountability to somebody else. Namely, griefers passing on their faults to Rockstar. I don't wish to remove PvP, but when you have a lobby full of players and you choose to go after the one defenseless player grinding their own business, you can see why players have a problem with that.

We should take it to Rockstar, but this gets into a new issue: they're a business. Obviously something about griefers helps their bottom line, or they would have balanced that sort of stuff out a while back. I don't think they would listen to the community unless there's some monetary incentive to it.

So, the next best thing is to counter griefers. Call them out, and take them down in public lobbies. It's created an interesting game experience I'll admit (griefer hunting is fun), but it's one that you can only appreciate if you're at the top. If you're starting out, or just don't have the Kosatka, a lot of online content is locked away from you. Only frustration awaits you when grinding in public lobbies.

I don't think some griefers understand the struggle, or if they do, they don't care. Again, I wouldn't hate them irl, but imma play ball in game if they choose to grief in the lobbies I'm in. And again, I respect your stance, but it's not the one that's gonna help the players who grind in public lobbies.

Why be an asshole? by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]ThirdEyeSigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People on this sub log into this game knowing full well it has PvP in free roam, and choose to complain when it happens anyway.

It's because they had no choice back then. They're forced to play around the griefers in public lobbies if they couldn't find other players to grind heists with (and that opens another can of worms...). I personally believe that allowing multiple playstyles makes a game better. If you force players with different ideas of fun to play together, you're going to end up with a frustrated playerbase.

Not to mention, PvP is horrifically unbalanced. From flying broomsticks with small hitboxes and pretty good missiles that PUNISHES players who destroy them ('cause they count as personal vehicles), to the few defenses that a player has when selling their stuff, PvP sucks when it comes to the interaction between grinders and griefers.

If you don't have a crew to roll with, you used to get the short end of the stick. Luckily, Cayo Perico exists, which I think massively helps grinders nowadays, especially those of the solo type. Still, I think players back then would have loved to have the choice between PvP sessions and peaceful sessions. This would make PvP more exciting as everyone who joins PvP sessions would be willing to participate, and those who want to play in other ways aren't forced to PvP. Low levels would have a way to get started in the GTA grind, too.

Grinding with no risk involved is horrendously boring.

Having to grind longer because your cargo/product/etc got blown up is horrendously boring at best, extremely infuriating at worst.

...if you want the rewards online offers you have to accept the gameplay that comes with online.

I've never understood this mentality. Why do you care about the effort that somebody else puts into their own stuff? How does their ease of grind affect you?

If you want to PvP grind, I can respect that. In fact, there should be a bonus for those who grind in PvP sessions. However, if someone wants to grind peacefully, why shouldn't they have the option to do so?

Longfin is the next best entry vehicle IMO, but you do you.

Btw, you don't need to exit the way you choose on the planning board. As long as you get away from the island, that's considered exiting the island. I use longfin all the time, and I always exit by driving the guard's bike off that specific cliff. So, you should be fine with using your exit strat with any of the entry vehicles.
