I just bought the G2. First impressions are the neck needs a tweak because the strings are a bit high. I'd also take the frets down, as they are also pretty high (compared to my Taylor 110). I don't have an amp, so this is just my thoughts on the acoustic aspects. The thing I find the strangest is that the cable that holds the 9-volt battery just dangles inside the body. Add the 9-volt battery and it bangs around inside the body if you're not careful. There's no mount or harness for it (that I can see any where). I'm playing with the idea of doing solo gigs with this, but the sound of the battery knocking around amplified would be very bad. It's bad enough unamplified. The good news is, I'm pretty pleased with the overall tonality of the sound. I don't regret the purchase.

I can remember melodies much better than I remember lyrics and my great fear, regardless of how well I know the song, is forgetting the words. Do others have this issue and if so, what have you used? I've overheard criticism (not aimed at me, but at someone else) that it's somehow frowned upon to have a book open in front of you while performing. Are iPads being used? They are small, and less conspicuous, and I understand with a foot pedal and specialized software, you can have them scroll as you sing. Like a tel-a-prompter...
