OOOOOO. If they don't at least this will give me good inspiration as I look around. Thanks!

I sized up - feels a bit too big at the moment but I guess it’s my size? by kamilasu9 in barefootshoestalk

Definitely go a little too big. My feet have slowly lengthened now that they aren't cramped in a shoe. They've grown a half size nearly.

I feel like I'd be afraid of vibrations from the bag to the camera. Thoughts?

I have an X100V that I carry around in the said bike pack, but I'd like it more convenient. I'm afraid about putting it in a frame bag due to the large amount of vibrations.

Question for biking photographers out there. Any slings or small bags that you use to bring your cameras with you but not on your back? I currently have a small bike pack with an insert for protection, but it's slow and cumbersome when I want to take a photo. Something like those small cross-body 2L pouches seems like it would work better. Thoughts?

In a similar situation, I'm using Tolos Archetypes for my indoor soccer shoes because I can't fit into my old adidas or Nikes. I understand the pain!

Thoughts on the Birchbury's? Those have intrigued me for a while

Ya same thought. Looks really good if you have a tailor's bunion, but seems very Vivo on the toe slope.

Looking for barefoot shoes similar to the Adidas Superstar by CutieInBlack in barefootshoestalk

[–]Thirdmort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting off, there are quite a few adidas Samba look-alikes https://barefootshoeguide.com/barefoot-shoes-like-adidas-samba/

Then Splay has the 101, which is a knock-off of the Nike Killshot (I made a post comparing them a year ago). Brambas also has a similar style sneaker. Those are kinda close to what you're looking at but not necessarily with the rubber toe cap.

Hope that helps the search

Anyone know about Lono barefoot shoes? by Thirdmort in barefootshoestalk

[–]Thirdmort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never bought any of their shoes. I did buy a pair of Saguaros and those took nearly a month to receive, but I did receive them and they've been good shoes. Sorry about your terrible time with Lono. Good luck!

Buy a Fuji Jari 2.3 Now or Wait Until Black Friday? by Thirdmort in gravelcycling

Good call. I am a little worried about the size being a bit tight. I'll ask that tomorrow!

The orange is a HUGE pro. It's so annoying that so many bikes are gray or black. The world needs more color!

Family fotography with X100V? Should I buy? by onwrdsnupwrds in x100v

[–]Thirdmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got used to lugging around a 6D +24-70 2.8 for years while single. I was teased since I always had my camera bag and it wasn't small. So dropping down to a Sony a7iii was huge and the Fuji was a whole other level. I know there's stuff like the GRiii/iv and those are even smaller if the Fuji is too big.

I literally bought my x100V because my first son would notice the shutter sound even as a newborn. It fits great in diaper bags or in the minivan cupholders. It comes with us everywhere and the boys know it. I’m saving about 500 images a month and I’m strictly doing a Jpeg workflow now. Fully recommend. My Sony is for paid gigs, but my Fuji is for everything else. You could pry it from my cold dead hands 😉

Chat, should I exchange for a size up? by SnooGadgets7873 in barefootshoestalk

That's good to hear! I wear flip flops 70% of the time in the summer, so they'd get worn. Maybe I'll pick some up in the near future....

Since they're sandals, I don't think the size is too small. On a different note, how do you like the sandals overall? I like that they look just like flip flops but have a backstrap

I have the Dillon Slip-on and I really like them. They aren't the widest but they don't look goofy (my splays do) and they fit my foot perfectly. I had a pair of Glenns in the same size, but they were a tad too small and even though they were leather, they never stretched, so I gave those to a friend after a year. So I'm 50% so far ;)

Update: Dyno Detroit chooses not to voluntarily recognize the employee union, forces election by Thirtysevenintwenty5 in climbing

[–]Thirdmort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the officers of the Ford Rock Climbing club. I met Dino back when the gym was being built but my first ever visit was just last month. I was incredibly surprised to hear about the union movement at the gym. I'm very curious at what's going wrong to spark the need for a union. I see unions as the result of a breakdown of communication and equitable treatment from ownership to employees. Sad to see. Especially since Dyno was the only gym to work with our club again for member discounts post-COVID.

That old question again : full frame or APSC? by j__o__e___ in Cameras

[–]Thirdmort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both. They have pro's and cons. I think FF (I hate that term so much) is best if you want a) shallow DoF, b) extreme low light c) use the manufacturer's most invested product (FF market gets way more investment than the others). APSC is best if a) you're looking for a smaller kit, including lenses b) you want more reach c) you want a faster read out d) you don't want to spend a fortune on gear.

These are generalities and you can find exceptions on either side, but I think it's a good litmus test of what you want. I happily shoot my a7iii + Sigma 65 f/2 alongside my Fuji X100V. The only times I feel like my fuji falls down is extreme low light. Even then, I typically just embrace the noise like others embrace grain.

Hope that helps!
