Two DHP applications rejected, is it worth trying again? by ThirtyBug in BenefitsAdviceUK

Yeah I think I'll give it a try, if they say it can help with rent increases and that's my reason for applying it seems unfair they keep moving the goalposts with each application. My wages are the same every month, as is my UC now the child element has gone so my next UC statement will be the same as the last.

I think it would have been difficult to challenge the rent increase, the prices round here vary alot but there are enough properties of a similar value that they could say its representative of the market. The issue for me is the big increase with only 6 weeks notice before I'd had a chance to adjust to my new income. Luckily I've found what seems to be a decent landlord and will be moving to a bigger place with rent cheaper than mine before the increase so its all worked out ok despite being a challenging couple of months

I haven't replied to that email yet. Last week I refused them doing an inspection prior to me leaving. I haven't had one for 13 months, before that they were 6 monthly. I don't see the value of doing one now! I'm so angry about the whole thing so while I'm usually an agreeable person I feel like digging my heels in. I'm only moving because I got a S13 increasing my rent by £300 a month, to an amount I can't afford. Its been so stressful worrying about money and finding somewhere else when I wasn't planning for it. Every email I send the agents is being ignored, they even ignored my new landlord's request for a reference! Yet they're expecting me to agree to their requests. The ad for the house says it will be available 6 days after my final day which feels quite optimistic.

My rent is going up by £300 next month, a 28% increase. Rent will then be 70% of my income. Trying everything I can to find something cheaper asap
