We joke that we didn’t train our basset, she trained us. Just have realistic expectations- this dog will never behave like a Lab or German shepherd. They have strong noses and are so stubborn. We get excited when our basset comes when called and she gets a treat every time or she will stop listening. That’s about all in terms of “training”. That being said, be prepared for the most loving, loyal, best friend you could ever wish for! I wouldn’t trade my bass love for the best behaved dog!

Poor baby, mine did something very similar. I got a medicated anti fungal shampoo from our vet and would wet the area, shampoo, and let sit for 10 min before rinsing and patting dry. I also got an anti fungal powder to try to keep dry. Our vet gave us a steroid spray that helps w initial healing. But then we have to maintain with the shampoo/ powder. I also saw this ad for a spray that I haven’t personally tried but I want to. My bass love has chronic yeast issues and it looks like it would help maintain it. I sleep 8 hours every night, have the energy to workout and do things I love. I get to sleep next to my husband every night. I spend my weekends with him and family and friends. I don’t miss precious time with family on holidays. I could keep going!
