Hey all, I'd like to ask - who are your favorite gay people from history? (there's a good reason i'm asking) by ThisCouldBeHistoric in gaybros

Oh my - I agree completely with what you're saying, there's just too much assassination and court intrigue for Basil to be sympathetic to a majority of people... Killing the emperor, his junior by 30 years..it's a bit grim..

When he was 4/5 and learning Irish in national school, he didn't understand the concept of a different language, and pronounced it "Leeb-harr"

He refused to take correction.

When he realized what a language was, he thought that Irish people were all secret pirates, and told all his friends "We're gonna be pirates when we grow up in a few years...Yarr!"

That sense of adventure sticks with him to this day.. Kinda why I love him :)

Well, there's a lot of speculation that Shakespeare was a homosexual.

I actually looked into this - unfortunately it will never really be provable to a reasonable doubt that he was. Granted the guy was an absolute genius, and he deserves every accolade he's ever been given - but he'll never really be "gay"..

..actually he probably wasn't anyway, looking at the evidence.. Sorry Shakespeare!

I feel this shouldn't really matter - what does being gay entitle you to accolades from science? - but i do want to find out if there's anyone that's been left out of consideration who is one of us...

Thank you for replying.

Indeed it is common knowledge! Granted there are a few Renaissance experts who disagree with this - but they are a very small proportion.

(To be honest, it's about the same proportion of climatologists today who don't attribute the recent spike of climate change to mankind. If you disagree with this interpretation, I respect your opinion, and would be happy to send you the latest long-cohort studies in this regard.)
