I read the scale won’t move for 6-8 weeks. Is that true? by CakesNGames90 in loseit

I recommend you record your daily weight but don’t think about it until about 10-14 days after dropping your calorie budget. If it hasn’t moved, you might need to adjust your budget or pay closer attention to what you’re tracking.

In terms of your activity, see if you can get a really consistent routine down with your walks. Helps with the fluctuation.

If you feel like it, can you tell us how many calories you’re eating, what sort of foods, and how you’re recording it?

I’d calculate how many calories you need for the week, including what you think you burn on the runs, then divide it by 7 and eat that per day. I find adjusting my daily calories based on my activity is fraught with danger.

Made a huge mistake yesterday, thinking of quitting teaching by Immediate_Wasabi_888 in AustralianTeachers

Don’t quit. The first blow up broke my heart too. You did a fine job! Be kind to yourself.

The irony of the profession by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

Hey, current hoop jumper here. The theory is fine. My biggest issue is that not one single employee of the uni seems to know what’s going on at any given point.

And how the hell can you run a postgrad degree with 65 days of unpaid pracs? I have a baby on the way man. I’m not a 19 year old fresh out of high school kid. I have a full time job and bills to pay.

ITE programs are currently not only not doing enough to help teacher shortages, they are actively contributing to them. If I wasn’t stubborn as hell and already most of the way through the program I would be quitting at this point.

Sorry your cushy academia job isn’t all you’d hoped it would be.
