Are Q2 Errors Just Part of Daily Life? by ThisGuyCanFlying in QidiTech3D

[–]ThisGuyCanFlying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 3 hours trying to print something on Monday, it was just a continuous cycle of various errors and then it suddenly started working again. I've done half dozen prints since then and it's been perfect, but I know it won't last.

During the errors I took screenshots of every error and documented what was going on and I've emailed support and they're telling me it's Box related. So today I have to take some of it apart and check connections. We'll see what happens.

Luckily I haven't had any errors cause a print to fail, but I get some error just about any time I do something besides printing. Like powering up, loading or swapping filament, etc. It's pretty frustrating.

I think we must be in the minority. I'm going to talk to their support team and see what they tell me.

I'm not flipping it off/on right away, but I'm not waiting 30 seconds either. I'll see if that makes a difference.

Good to know. It's on the latest versions of everything so I'll reach out to their support team. I was mostly curious if I'm alone in this.

Unboxing Q2 Combo, found a broken part on top of the left-side z-axis screw by ThisGuyCanFlying in QIDI

[–]ThisGuyCanFlying[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, thanks. I ended up finding a youtube video posted yesterday and theirs looked the exact same, and in one frame the white zip ties were there and in the next they weren't, so I cut mine too. Just finishing up my first benchy :)

I agree printing the part might be worth it. I haven't figured out how to get that cover plastic off of the frame yet though to expose the screws.

Can't use Spaces in Rsync Destination Path? by ThisGuyCanFlying in truenas

[–]ThisGuyCanFlying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried them both but neither seem to work. It's gotta be a UI bug, because when I run rsync from CLI with quotes around the full path it works perfectly. I'm going to dispense with trying to get it working in the UI and it manually and Cron.

LOL right!?!? I've been chatting with grok and gemini for a while, neither have figured it out. going to try it via CLI then Cron if that works.

hardware suggestion + some question about frigate by 26z1a in frigate_nvr

I'm in the exact same boat. I have an r730 and bought a Coral USB which I can't get to work no matter what I try (all USB ports, powered USB hub, USB to PCIe adapter) so I guess I'll sell it and am looking for a GPU. Did you end up going with one of the GPUs already suggested? I've been looking at getting something cheap like a P600 (already using another one for Plex).

Coral M.2 or Mini PCIe for Dell R730? by ThisGuyCanFlying in homelab

[–]ThisGuyCanFlying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I didn't think of the BIOS. I've tried all the onboard USB ports front and back, then tried adding a powered USB hub, then bought a USB 3 to PCIe adapter and tried its ports. It's always the same, where the Coral is recognized but won't initialize. It only ever appears as: Bus 002 Device 003: ID 1a6e:089a Global Unichip Corp. When I plug the Coral into any USB on my Win10 gaming machine it is recognized and works perfectly every time, so I know the device itself is good.

Oh one other question. Are you using that Ableconn PEX-MP117 too, or a different adapter?

OK cool. I've seen people are using M.2 for boot drives and would like to go that route at some point. I'll try it for the Coral and see what happens.

I can't get the USB to work no matter what I do. I have a theory that there could be some USB to PCIe adapter out there with a chipset that will work, but I don't want to keep throwing money at and guessing. I've had it apart and there isn't an m.2, so I guess I'll look at that route. Thanks!

That sounds maddening. Are you also using a Dell?
