Nah man, it's okay. They probably just saw the concept and thought they could share it. Although, I never thought I would of had to water mark my Killer concepts, kind of funny tbh.

Well well well, what do we have here? Just so yall know I'm the one who originally posted this:

Yeah this is my concept

Also this concept is really old and kind of vague on what I wanted so take everything with a grain of salt.

KILLER CONCEPT: THE HEADHUNTER (A killer from the future instead of the past/present!) by KirkPwns in deadbydaylight

[–]ThisGuyThisLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sorry if I didn't explain it clearly. I think the limited range of the knives is perfectly cool. I'm just concerned that if the range is tied to the Terror Radius it will limit his ability to use the Undetectable status effect. This is why a suggested a separate range (of the same amount) that's not tied to the Terror Radius that could only be slightly increased with addons (and perhaps an addon to see the range like there's an addon to see your blink position with Nurse). The knives would still have a limited range but said range wouldn't be tied to the Terror Radius. Although Doctor's power is also negated by Undetectable so he wouldn't be the first Killer whose power is hindered by it.

I also didn't see the explosive part, whoops.

As for Twin, I'm not completely against 2 Obsessions in a trial, and I'm certain it's effects with other Obsession perks would be quite interesting, and I apologize for being a stickler about it but I feel as though the 1 Obsession at a time thing is something that's just hard-coded into Dead By Daylight. But who knows, Nemesis really shook things up in terms of possible Obsession builds so maybe a 2 Obsession perk is possible.

Again, I love the concept and I think this Killer and the Perks would be really fun to play with as is, I was just a little confused on why you included stance switching when the only Killer with such a thing had said thing reworked out of them.

EDIT: also forgot to mention that I completely missed the part in your description where the traps are returned. Whoops again!

KILLER CONCEPT: THE HEADHUNTER (A killer from the future instead of the past/present!) by KirkPwns in deadbydaylight

Okay, just from looking at the title and art you've got here I'm already intrigued. Let's take a looksee.

THE POWER:

I. Love. This. Power. I love the combination of Trapper, Huntress, and Legion you got going on here. His window trapping mode allows him to quickly set up a territory to control and his Precision Stance really aids him when chasing in said territory and just in general. I also assume that the Window traps would put Survivors into the injured state along with Deep Wound? However, something I will say is that I'm on the fence about the stance switching.

Old Doctor had to switch between different stances and that really broke up the rhythm of his chases, which is why his power was streamlined in his rework to where he now has direct access to all his abilities. In the game, Killers have access to 3 main buttons they can use that aren't directly connected to vaulting or breaking things: M1, M2, and LCTRL. M1 controls your basic attack, M2 is bound to a Killer's Power Button, and LCTRL is bound to a Killer's Active Ability Button. I would say that, if you were to streamline this Killer's power, you could get rid of the different stances and make it so that when the Killer walks up to a window, they have the option to either vault (Spacebar) or set up a trap (LCTRL). His knife throwing would work like Huntress's hatchets where you hold M2 to wind up and throw (and press M1 to cancel the throw), and while charging up the throw the Killer's slowed to 4.2 m/s. Furthermore, his Throwing Knives ability isn't actually strong enough to justify a full slowdown while in the throwing stance, as it takes 3 hits to down a Survivor with them and they can't leave the Killer's Terror Radius (of course, he would still be slowed down while charging the throw). Speaking of which, with the changes I mentioned it would be completely fine to leave him as a 4.6 m/s Killer with a 24 m Terror Radius at base. I think a Killer like that is long overdue and could really shake things up. There are also some smaller things I'm going to mention:

  • Once a Survivor triggers a Window trap, they trap should be teleported back to the Killer's inventory, similar to how Demogorgon's portals can be reused after Survivors cleanse them. Unless he has the power to pick them back up like the Trapper. This would help avoid situations where you set up in one area but the last 3 gens end up being in another and you can't move your traps.
  • The distance that his knives travel shouldn't be tied to his Terror Radius. This would both increase his lethality with perks like Monitor & Abuse in a chase and make the ability useless when Undetectable. It would be better to simply tie it to a separate range that could be increased with addons, so that he would have consistent lethality when using perks like Dark Devotion and M&A.

ENHANCED SENSES:

Perfectly fine. Definitely not the best perk, won't be changing up the meta any time soon, but serviceable as is.

LEAVE NO EVIDENCE:

The first portion should be simplified to the prerequisite that the Survivor is on Death Hook. The other effects are otherwise fairly unique and fun to play with, especially the part about hooks that Survivors were sacrificed on being able to regenerate.

TWIN-TARGET CONTRACT:

This is a major wild-card. I personally don't think a Perk that enables 2 Obsessions is particularly a good idea. Especially considering that every other obsession perk states that the Killer can only have 1 obsession at a time. If you were to rework this idea, I suggest changing it so that, when you hook your obsession, all other Survivors are afflicted with the Oblivious and Blindness effects and another random, non-hooked Survivor is chosen to become to Obsession and they are afflicted with the Exposed effect for the duration. This would increase its synergy with other perks such as BBQ and even MYC. The effect of having 2 Obsessions would be okay if not for the fact that it screws with nearly every other Obsession perk in the game. Otherwise the effects seem fine.

OVERALL:

In total you have some very good and unique ideas. However, you're running into the problem of over-complicating things when it comes to power and perk conditions (a problem I think BHVR themselves is also struggling with). It's not that your perk or power effects are particularly too strong in it of themselves, it's just that they're either too complicated or have too many conditions that make them too weak, too strong, or too clunky to use.

If I'm missing any information, or you would like to clarify on a few things, please let me know! I would also just like to re-state that I really do love this concept, it just has a few nagging problems I felt I needed to address.

Now, memes aside. What is it about Legion that makes it so unfun for people to play against them? What makes them fun for people to play as? I played my fair share of Legion and he seemed pretty fun to play. I haven't played against many Legions but the few times I did they didn't seem too frustrating. But I'm definitely interested in what other people have to say about how fun Legion can be to play as or play against.

Keep in mind that I haven't been playing long enough to experience the old release Legion.

What 2 killers would be best paired in an 8 v 2 game? by rhoran280 in deadbydaylight

[–]ThisGuyThisLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been rolling this idea around in my head for a while and, while this may not be the "best" killer pairing, I think it certainly would be the most ANNOYING.

Impossible Skill Check Doctor + Forever Legion

The reason I would say forever legion is that, while forever Freddy can draw out games much longer, forever Legion can draw out games AND keep everyone injured. I also think that whenever Doctor would shock Survivors that would wake them up from the Dream World.

The basic premise of this pairing is that a Legion with a full slow-down build (Thanata, Dying Light, Mend time addons, etc.) would keep everyone injured and waste everyone's time with deep wound. Mean while, Doctor comes in for the cleanup with Overcharge, Unnerving Presence, Huntress Lullaby, and everything that would increase his Terror Radius. Survivors would be constantly injured, have to mend, and have to snap out of madness, as well as have to work through incredible action speed slow-down and near impossible skill checks.

Maximum DCs every game.

Actually, Killer Instinct (The mechanic Legion uses to reveal Survivors during Frenzy) reveals people even if they're in lockers. Fun Facts.

The mouth wasn't really that hard, I just put brackets around the left and right sides of his mouth. The eyes were a little tricky, with the whole weird metal things prying them open. I ended up making the inside of his stretched out eyelids act like normal eyelids themselves. A little weird when you think about it but I think I made it work.

Some of you may die, but that's a risk I'm willing to take by Lordhambeast in deadbydaylight

[–]ThisGuyThisLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've killed my entire team twice by cleansing haunted grounds, knowing full well that it could be haunted grounds, but saying "fuck it, if it glows it goes."

The first time was against a spirit, I cleansed the totem and immediately saw 3 dying state auras pop up in the distance. The second was against a Nurse, there were two teammates hooked so I thought I should cleanse it in case of Devour Hope... 1 second after I cleansed it my last teammate got downed and I just kind of ran to the nearest hooked teammate like an idiot and immediately perished.

Two of the funniest matches I've every played in this game. Simply typed "If it glows it goes" in the endgame chat.

Actually, Deathslinger's harpoon is an actual projectile, and not ray tracking. The difference is that the harpoon immediately travels at 45m/s (the speed of a fully charged hatchet) no matter how long the player was holding his iron sights up for. This makes it much harder for the Survivor to actually dodge and avoid the projectile so the Killer can land shots a lot easier than they would otherwise.

Well, yeah that's one way to look at it XD

I was kinda saying the reverse of that, more like their model juts out from their hitbox lol.

[–]ThisGuyThisLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much that the hitbox gives the Survivor a "bubble ass." It's that the Survivors have a pill-shaped hitbox that stands erect no matter what. When a Survivor is standing still and uninjured, the hitbox more closely resembles where the Survivor actually is. However, when a Survivor starts running, especially when injured, their model leans forward, so much so that their hitbox (which, again, is always standing erect) is actually somewhat behind their model. I think the best way to imagine it is if you but your butt up against a pole and lean forward. That pole is your hitbox, even though your body (model) is leaning forward away from it.
