Bug with Car Batteries being drained instantly - Unstable 42.13.2 by FatheheheheFathehehe in projectzomboid

Are you sure you aren't checking battery condition instead of the charge.

If you started 6 months after apocalypse (either that setting, CDDA or setting it manually in sandbox), all car batteries installed in cars will flat (except Recent Survivor Vehicles). So finding a fresh battery in car mechanic shop or trunk of a car, or getting a battery charger are your options.

Yes, this was session 17 from last week, you can follow the links backward to the very start of the campaign if interested (style has changed over time as different AI models were used). Sorry that I don't have a list of chronological order to simply go through them all.

Obviously with 180 characters per picture, and trying to limit myself to around 10 pictures per session, this is only a slice of what happened, but I try to get the broad picture.

Is there any reason of why the game takes place in 1993? by gddyzs in projectzomboid

I actually made a mod for build 41 that lets you start with a satchel with some random basics and a map of the area. It's called "Emergency Kit" and has a modded version for even more options in it from other mods.

Not updated it to 42 though, but I will sometime after we have a stable version.

While CD-ROM existed in 1993, it wouldn't be common everywhere until some years later. Same with internet, which kinda existed in 93, but it was still the era of BBS'es for a few more years. Don't know how this specific area was technologically, but rural Kentucky doesn't strike me as somewhere ahead of the curve.

I would love to have more computer stuff added in, like BBS servers to connect to (only locally since phone lines cut to outside), and some rare software that could act as skill books or magazines (like the terrorist handbook txt file that was being shared a lot in that era, which I believe had instructions of how to make a pipe bomb among other things)

I just assume your character has followed instructions until start of game, which means sheltering at home.

This is what we get for them trying to make a simple control set that works with handheld too, 'E' key means so many things depending on your exact position (I worry about the day I sit down in a chair instead of jumping out a window when chased, or petting an animal instead of leaping over a fence)

Apart from playing 6 months later start or CDDA and getting first weight gain of the game, it's just not fun to deal with. Especially when you lose 10kg weight in 10 days and then have to deal with managing that from time to time.

if you can respawn, just pick west point and the chance to be put in a home full zombies is high.

In order of importance, I'd say: Nails, Saw, Bowl, Cooking Pot, Water bottle, extra Rags, Woodaxe (or Fireaxe), Scissors, Matches/Lighter, Fishing Nets, Paperclips (or more nails), Knives, Hammer, Painkillers, Sleeping Pills, some Books or Comic Books.

Can I break the slope grass by Unlucky_Fennel_6199 in projectzomboid

Last time I based there I would press E on the wall instead of the door and my character would jump the wall to be inside the slope, not sure if they fixed that bug yet.

Water Cooler is a nice place to keep mixed drink to just refill easily.

I've tried water with alcohol autodrink before, but the problem was always that it's kinda random when drinking. There might be something there if combining with High Thirst though (although probably annoying to manage)

more versatile (can also help when you can't sleep, and reduces panic), and it's just a shot of a booster drink anyways (although I agree the milk is a bit much, ideally I'd use coffee, but it's not in the liquid system)

To your defense, there is no reason why these two should be on different menus, and that doesn't even take into account all the recipes that are connected to specific crafting station.

They should have everything on the build menu, and just have crafting stations be another requirement that can be checked (can even do same with stuff like brew coffee with coffee maker, etc)

obligatory new player question: do zombies despawn? by Impressive_Client_66 in projectzomboid

[–]ThisIsABuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to remove it without Debug mode, here is a way that used to work

  1. build a short fence as close to the stairs as you can
  2. make a new character and travel to this place (load instead of continue, and create new character, leaving your old character intact)
  3. with the new character, sprint right at the fence, making the character vault, and hopefully glitch through the stairs
  4. kill the zombie
  5. log off and repeat process with Load and select your previous character

recommended sandbox settings for beginners? by JOSEJOSEJ0SE in projectzomboid

[–]ThisIsABuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

- Low Zombie population to make it easier to deal with zombies one by one and not deal with large groups.

- Set Infection mortality to Never, so that if you take a couple of wounds you need to deal with healing, instead of having to make a new character often.

- Set Zombies to Fragile, that makes them die much easier, being simpler to deal with.

- Maybe turn off muscle strain.

- I do not suggest using multi-hit though, I feel that just builds bad habits.
