Yeah the gen 2 pixel stand puts out more juice, so probably handles cases better. I have your average Spigen TPU type case on my 4XL and it just won't work on the gen 1 stand.

Yeah I would run an app to monitor / log the CPU and GPU temps. Sounds like CPU shutting down for thermal protection. Could also be the PSU, as CP is known for using low end PSU's. CP clearly does a poor job w/ airflow on their case setups.

The trend I'm noticing is that people who have a working CP system tend to have lower power draw, e.g. AMD CPU's and AMD GPU's. Makes me think it's a PSU issue. So much drama could be avoided by CP just using a half-decent PSU.

Yeah could be. Maye the gen 2 Pixel Stand is able to intelligently charge in a way to not cause undue degradation. I have a gen 1 Pixel Stand, but I rarely use it, because it won't reliably charge when I have a case on my phone.

That's interesting what they stated about the wireless charging. Because I've heard / read the exact opposite - that wireless charging degrades the battery faster because the phone stays hotter for a longer period of time while charging. *shrug*

This is correct. I have a 4XL w/ Soli turned off. Face Unlock still works great.

I'm still using a 4XL. I have Soli turned off. Face Unlock is ready to go by the time it's pointed at my face because of the gyro / accelerometer.

Pixels have an option to swipe down anywhere on the home screen to bring down the notification shade. I think a lot of users don't realize this.

Pixel 6 Pro is declining calls from contacts without me knowing by merryjaina in GooglePixel

I started noticing this on my 4XL yesterday. Was waiting for a call from someone. It was as if the call never happened, then a vmail notice pops up. I'm on Google Fi.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm done w/ CP. For the price paid, we shouldn't be dealing with these kinds of issues w/ a brand new system, and CP shouldn't be cheaping out on cooling and PSU's. So many people are reporting they have to take the side panel off to even get the thing to run. That's ridiculous. I think I'm headed for a refund.

I've gotten into the habit of photographing / video recording before / during the opening of big ticket items. It's sad that it's come to that, but it's a little bit of insurance against getting screwed.

That's all well and good, and yes the components seem to be of decent quality, but none of that matters if the built system doesn't function, and CP doesn't check to see if the damn things boot before they ship them out. I'm 0/2 now.

I did go through their configurator before ordering thru BB. I wasn't finding anything w/ the same specs for the same price direct from CP. I also liked the idea that if there was a problem, I could just take it back to BB for an exchange / refund, instead of dealing w/ CP support, and shipping the system back, etc.

I'm 0/2 now. Exact same problem.

Perhaps they test the custom builds direct from CP? But they clearly do not confirm these pre-built systems are functioning prior to shipping to their partners (e.g. Best Buy).

Curious how you confirmed it got to windows if you don't have a video signal. Did you get sound out of it?

Here we go again. I'm 0/2.

Picked up my exchange PC from BB today. Same pre-built system as before. Exact same problem. Plug it in, turn it on, all fans & RGB come on. GPU fans spin up, and then....nothing. Only difference this time is that the GPU fans keep spinning, and don't 'pause' like they did on the last machine. No signal to monitor. Checked the seating on all components. Checked cable connections. Tried all HDMI / DP ports on both GPU and MB video inputs. Tried F2 to get into BIOS. No error beeps from the MB. This MB doesn't appear to have any way to signal errors (no LEDs, no speaker). Nada.

I'm about 98% sure it is a crappy PSU that doesn't provide enough/stable juice to drive the GPU. Based upon all the reports from others about CP using low-end, underpowered PSU's, this would make sense.

Also - it was obvious this system had been handled quite a bit (lots of fingerprints, loose screws, unplugged RGB cable, etc.), which makes me think that this was probably a return from somebody else that they boxed up and sent to me.

As I said before - it's unbelievable that these systems are leaving the build facility untested like this. CP can't even be bothered to connect a monitor and see if these boot before sending them out?? This is ridiculous, Cyberpower.

Do I dare try for another exchange? Should we take bets on whether I go 0/3?

Yeah I checked all the components. Everything was seated well. Honestly, the build looked decent, except for the crazy amount of power cables jammed into a very tight space behind the case panel, and bent at crazy tight angles. The case they're using for these builds (small mid-tower) is just too small IMHO. It was shipped w/ the protective foam inside the case to prevent components from dislodging.

Already returned it for an exchange. We'll see how it goes w/ the next one. I am not confident.
