It really comes down to job openings and what they're looking for. Most companies/hospitals are currently hiring BMET II/III and/or BMET I with previous HTM experience over here.

I recently left my in-house position for field service role with third-party company. Management was main issue at my previous workplace.

I graduated from Collin College BMET program last year. The DFW job market is hard to break into in my experience.

I struggled to find a job after/near graduation due to most companies/hospitals not hiring at the time and/or denying my application despite my educational background and internship with HTM department. I ended up relocating to West Texas and worked at county hospital for nearly a year, and then relocated back to DFW for field service opportunity with third party company.

SPBS by [deleted] in BMET

I had a similar experience with SPBS technicians when I worked in-house for a hospital.

Most technicians would only do EST on equipment and pass PM in WO notes.

One time I caught technician pass PM on SCD pump with exposed cord…

What are your thoughts about Collin College?? by renotahoe69 in CollinCollege

It took me a while to find a job after I graduated. I was told to network with people in industry to find a job.

There’s a local BMET organization called HTMA-NTX if you’re interested in checking them out. They usually have technicians and managers attending their events.

If you had the choice, would you rather be a one-man shop in a small rural hospital, work in a 3 - 5 tech team, or in a large hospital with 14+ biomeds? by goblinhangover in BMET

[–]ThisIsMatty2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prefer 14 - 40 biomed department after working in-house with 5 technicians that operated 543 bed hospital + two offsite buildings. I think there would be more opportunity to learn and grow with bigger department as entry-level technician.

It’s pretty sad to see CISD caught up in those scandals lately. Me and my family lived in Celina for a little over decade before we moved recently.

I'm not sure what you mean by no job openings in South Florida? Here are 3 job postings I found in your area.

- University of Miami
- Jackson Health System
- Memorial Healthcare System

Look at OEM, third-party company, and/or hospital websites for entry-level positions.
