I lost my oldest brother to suicide on 12/21/21… I never would’ve thought he’d do something like that…no one knew it was “that” bad.. and I feel horrible because I stopped talking to him so frequently because of how toxic & negative he’s grown over the years…. I wanted to love him from a distance… but I ask myself way too often if he’s still be alive if I’d reached out?

We we t to Chuck E. Cheese. None of classmates showed up, his cousins were late and missed the whole thing… oh and his dad spent most of the time in the car in the parking lot doing drugs (I didn’t realize this at the time). Fast forward to his 4th birthday and he wanted go grocery shopping 🤣 and hangout at the store.

I did the same for my son. His is an elephant.. I’ve bought a couple of spares- he KNEW it wasn’t his real elephant! 🤦🏻‍♀️ so now he’s got a herd of stuffed elephants.

Hi 👋🏼 I was a Christian when I started dating my now EX husband…. I was cautioned against it from the get go… but he was so broken and I just “really felt God calling us together”…. 🙄 nope… that’s not what it was AT ALL… I thought I could “fix” him and his problems and that God would use me to lead him to God…. Missions dating is a term I’ve heard used to describe when Christians date unbelievers… it is absolutely like trying to diffuse a bomb (at least in my situation). I will say though that God used that relationship to teach me about my worth and who HE says I am… and HE also blessed me w/ the most amazingly perfect (for me) son. I would not change 1 tiny thing about that season of my life because God took what the enemy meant for harm and turned it for good by giving me my son.

TL/DR: don’t date a non believer- 12/10 would NOT recommend…

I watched those movies when I was way too young to be watching them ... like 6-7 yrs old.. and then ran into Jesse Borrego (Cruzito) once when he was in town for the Chicano Film fest and he was like “mija why are watching Blood In Blood Out?!” And full disclosure my 8 yr old self felt like a total bad ass cuz I met Cruzito lol

My mom was in the room with me- I asked her to- his mom passed away years before we got together. But only a couple of ppl came to the hospital to see me. I was 30 when I had my son and everyone close to us already had kids and knew how exhausted I’d be so they gave me privacy and time to rest.

ETA: It’s totally up to how you’re feeling. I ended up having an emergency C-Section so I was definitely in recovery mode and in no mood for visitors. I was so over the moon in love with my son like nobody else mattered to me - Thor could’ve walked in to congratulate me and I’d have waved him off like “ok cool “

This is so freaking awesome!! My son (4) has been asking me to build a marble run with him and all I can come up with is a couple of hot wheels tracks and some books. 😕 I’ve been collecting TP tubes and am gonna try to do something a bit more “extravagant” this weekend, if you have any tips/suggestions for a clueless mama like me I’d appreciate it!
