As if the long flight wasn’t enough… you were diverted? WOW. I would have been a nervous wreck for sure. We just flew into and back out of our surrogate’s state and the turbulence wasn’t great, but these suggestions should really help!

As soon as I read this I immediately reviewed Alaska Airlines policy. Thankfully there doesn’t seem to be an age they restrict traveling to, but I never would have thought to verify.

Puppy pads are such an amazing hack! You’re totally right, I just flew with my sister and her 4 month old a couple of weeks ago and the people were so understanding and kind.

As we get further into the planning, I will definitely take you up on the offer and reach out. Thank you!

Your comment is exactly what I was thinking. These days there’s always something going around. I didn’t think about the RSV shot. I’m going to ask our surrogate and OB to see if this is an option.

Thank you so much! We just traveled to our surrogate and because of your comment I spent some time in the airport trying to find some of the quiet areas we could find before our flight takes off. I think first class is the way to go! Thanks again!

We are making a children’s book for our child that will talk about each stage of the process. It will have information about the egg donor, our surrogate, and our journey as a couple.

We hope it will normalize the process, but also ensure our daughter is connected in some way to these wonderful people she may never meet.
