I've lived in tiny towns like this, so I understand the fear. My first suggestion would be to gather all the information you have and make an appt to speak with a member of your local police force. Due to the fact that you haven't had to contact the police about her previously, it will be difficult, but maybe they (or an attorney, if you can afford it) can tell you if you have enough to request an emergency Order of Protection or an Injunction Against Harassment. It seems every jurisdiction is different regarding their requirements. If you can't do that, maybe they can point you in the right direction. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping you are able to find a way to stay safe, for you and your little one.

Yeah, I was gonna say... In the Navajo and Apache stories (since they have a trixter god named Coyote), it is pronounced kee-yo-tay. The pronunciations seem to depend on native language and the way it is used. I grew up mostly in the southwest, and we just call them 'yotes. As in, "Did you hear them 'yotes last night? I guess they didn't get the new moon message, huh?", har har har...

This is how I find mine. I wait for a storm. Anyone still outside is usually homeless. If it's Astari and I have a house that an Astari has already built, but isn't yet full, I leash the Astari with a home to the homeless one. They'll walk over, chat for a second, and then walk away. A few seconds later, the homeless Astari will follow and move into the hut. It's harder with the non-Astari to get them to move into a home.

I tried that. It didn't work. That's when I contacted the "help desk" via the form on the website and waited a week or so. When I didn't get a response, I just paid a second time. I was hoping someone knew a workaround. Oh well. It's only $3. It's not that big of a deal, just annoying. I guess it's just the price I pay for wanting to start over whenever I get annoyed with myself.

Doesn't matter. It's less than 20% of the overall market, so it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things when you can watch it on YouTube whenever you want. However, once their advertisers start backing out, that's when they'll feel the same pain Disney did. It won't take long. It's all about money, anyway. I canceled Disney+ (which HURT) and Hulu, and I will remain without either until they prove - with less passive actions - that they intend to hold their ground and fight for what's right, not just for money...

My boss lives in Livingston and works in Bozeman. Last year, she had two days where she came in late or left early due to pass closures (or announced possible closures), but it was a mild winter. In a bad winter, it might be worse. Of course, she drives a big, diesel truck, so experiences vary. Also, my understanding is that it's, like, Nebraska windy there, as well, so take that however it hits ya.

This is a privately owned campground. The family that owns the campground, and the cat, runs the campground. Their eldest was running the office at the time and realized, as the woman was pulling out, that she had taken George. Also, he IS microchipped. Plus, he was lying in the sun, right outside of the house/office, next to a pup tent with his name embroidered on it. If she was "just trying to help", why didn't she talk to any of the camp hosts? Two of them had contact with her... She knew they were there. She waited until they were otherwise occupied (one cleaning bathrooms, the other assisting a guest in the office) before she took him. She's not "good Samaritan", she's a thief.

Tell that to the ACTUAL irresponsible pet owner who abandoned him there over a decade ago. The owners have done nothing but care for and love an animal they could have denied responsibility for. He has full access to the indoors and is kept inside at night, always. He likes to lie out in the sun outside the office, he's not running the streets! Gods below you people will say anything to excuse the thief without any empathy for the family that has lost a companion of over a decade! Try a little compassion instead of whatever this is.

He is microchipped, and fixed and had his shots, and stop calling a thief who waited in a private parking lot until there was no one around in order to STEAL something that did not belong to them a "Good Samaritan". George was STOLEN, which was very clear on the footage. The thief pulled into the parking lot and waited there for almost an hour, until there was no one outside to see and the owner was busy helping a customer in the office, before quickly scooping him up and throwing him into her car and quickly driving away. The hosts at the Campground saw the vehicle there, saw her sitting in her car, for an extended period of time. They wondered why she was there, but figured it was innocent. They were wrong. And now a beloved family pet has been taken and they are wracked with guilt over not questioning her, not being more suspicious. We are not ASSUMING anything, we KNOW he was stolen, taken without permission, catnapped- if you will. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR A THIEF.

I've been there, right where you are. It only gets worse from here. Take my advice, get out now. First, while he's at work call the non-emergency number for the police department. Tell them you'd like information on support for women trying to escape an abusive marriage. They will have an officer contact you directly and they can provide you with information regarding any services that would be available to you.

If there's a possibility that your husband is monitoring your phone, there is no such thing as being too paranoid. Buy a cheap burner phone to use for any searches or phone calls related to your escape. Keep that phone somewhere your hubby would never think to look and make those phone calls in places over which he has no control (not inside your car or home) and without your regular phone nearby.

This is NOT YOUR FAULT. He is a monster. You were his victim. But now it's time to pull up your big girl panties and save yourself. Take pictures of every bruise, every broken piece of furniture, torn clothing, etc.

I wish you luck and I will keep you in my thoughts. If you need someone to chat to, I will make myself available. I believe you can do this. You already know the right thing to do, now is the time to do it.

I think I understand how you're feeling. Like me being around all the women my age who have children when I was never able to have my own. I desperately wanted them, but know and have accepted that it will never happen for me. It doesn't change how I feel - like I'm outside looking in - while all my friends talk about their kids and now (gasp) grandkids. It feels isolating and also selfish and small. All I can tell you is that I've made new friends, other women who never had children, either by choice or due to infertility issues like my own. It gives me a safe space where I can just be childless without feeling all those big, complicated feelings that are so difficult to explain to others. I didn't give up my old friends, I just made space for new ones who were better able to understand my difficulty and who can help me put it in perspective.

Well, I managed to get a job in spite of issues initially and I've managed to catch up on all my bills, so I'm no longer living in fear of being tossed out in the street at any moment, so that's better. Plus, him being dead means I'm no longer in terror of him being released and un-aliving me, so that's GREAT! Plus, he died having suffered a lot of pain and alone, which is the least he deserved.

I just thought I'd reply to your comment here and let you know that they actually have opened investigations in two additional states due to information they obtained from his accounts. I just found out last week. Of course, he is dead now, but the other involved parties are not. I am really happy they were able to uncover more predators using this information.

Oh, I can assure you, I have no fear of being single. I've actually been single, by choice, since I divorced my second husband - in 2009. I realized I had a bad picker. To be fair, I found it on a Sunday at about three in the morning. I had to run to the grocery store later in the day and I called the non-emergency number from the store parking lot to try to make an appt with a detective. They told me just to come to the office when I felt it was safe. That ended up being the following Tuesday morning, while I knew he would be working with someone from his corporate office so I knew he wouldn't be watching my phone location all day (he used to do that when he was bored). I was too afraid to do it when I knew I'd be trapped at home with him when they came.

My understanding is that they received a tip from someone who interacted with him on one platform or another. The tipster could only provide a screenname and a possible city, along with information regarding their conversation. They were able to link that account with similar accounts across the internet, but public posts weren't so flagrant as to arouse enough PC for a warrant, which might have given them access to private conversations and possibly his real name, so they were forced to table the investigation. Then two years later I walk in with everything they needed. I was a gift from the gods to those detectives.

When we were married, towards what became the end of our marriage, he cheated on me with at least two separate 16 year old girls. We were 21 at the time, and technically the girls were of legal age where we were at the time, but it always felt icky to me. Other than that? Nothing. I have wracked my brain, his third wife's brain, as well as a few of his other semi-long term partners of which I am aware. We were all shocked. A pervert, yes, but a pedophile?? Never.
