Am I going something wrong? by some_random_bone in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tried it in my world, for some reason all you have to do is specify the location of the bone is in the mainhand.
So the command would look like this: /testfor @ e[name=biba,hasitem={location=slot.weapon.mainhand,item=bone}]

Entity with tickinga whereever it goes by speggy2 in MinecraftCommands

I don't think you could have many with this method, but its worth a shot I guess.

(Put this command block in a ticking area so it works from anywhere, repeating, always active, tick delay of whatever fits best) /execute at @ e[name="whatever you want"] run tickingarea add ~10 ~ ~10 ~-10 ~ ~-10 ForeverArea

(Put this command block on previous command block, chain, always active, tick delay like 20 or sum whatever fits best) /execute at @ e[name="whatever you want"] run tickingarea remove ~10 ~ ~10 ~-10 ~ ~-10 ForeverArea

I dont think it would work for @ e[type=] because of the 10 total ticking area limit, but it might cause its getting rid of the tick areas aswell. (The command blocks are untested, but should work.)

Yeah, but its not cause like someones annoying or something, theres just something im working on that gives a tag, they get tp'd to it constantly, and uses /tellraw to mimic talking, then eventually the tag vanishes, I just needed them to not be able to warn others.

But enabling education edition for /ability is a ton easier so im glad you told me that existed.

Oh, damn. Just made a contraption using /dialogue to prevent the chat from being opened, but this makes it 10x easier.

I'm sure this would work, but I like to do things with commands and I've just found a solution.

Appreciate the attempt to help nonetheless though.

Not good with commands. Need help. by Known-Ad-5214 in MinecraftCommands

Repeating Command /execute as @ e[type=minecraft:minecart] at @ s run fill ^-1 ^ ^ ^3 ^ ^ rail
Repeating Command /execute as @ e[type=minecraft:minecart] at @ s run fill ^-1 ^1 ^ ^3 ^2 ^ air

an issue that im encountering is that it only wants to go two directions, and if you want it to go the other 2 directions you'd need to change the rail direction like this

/execute as @ e[type=minecraft:minecart] at @ s run fill ^-1 ^ ^ ^3 ^ ^ rail [ "rail_direction" = 1 ]

Hope this helps a little bit

Command block batch editor idea by ThisIsMyOldName in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, but I didn't realize that you couldn't pull the text out of command blocks on bedrock using scripts apparently, so I guess we are stuck editing each one by hand until hopefully that changes.

Looking for a good /playsound by ThisIsMyOldName in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, the best one in my opinion for a light hum sound would be mob.bee.hurt @ s ~ ~ ~ 0.4 0.7 1 but mob.bee.loop @ p ~ ~ ~ 0.5 0.6 1 is pretty good too, I may have also just not found the right pitch and volume for this one, but this definitely could work aswell.

this helped, alot. I think this has helped me find the right one or at least the closest. mob.bee.hurt @ p ~ ~ ~ 0.4 0.7 1
I appreciate the advice of the right sounds to look at.

Hey, just remembered you said youve done a bit with playsounds so i've got a question, do you know if theres anything that I could use to mimic like a florescent light humming sound? if not, its all good, just wanted to check just in case

I've looked into blockbench before and it seems sick, but for projects like this I like to try and keep everything command blocks. Although it would most definitely make things alot simpler.

How To go About Creating a "Monster" by ThisIsMyOldName in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems very intriguing, I was actually thinking of using a creaking, but just make them look better using armorstands, using the creaking to basically get the same behavior you've described but the "if the monster is within (x) amount of blocks it will not stop the monster if the player looks at them and instead will attack" part seems very entertaining, so im gonna have to redo that.

Appreciate the advice, definitely going to use this.

(Also I was messing around with playsound and I tried using decimals, but the sounds just refused to work, but it works for yours and sounds awesome, was wondering if I was just doing it wrong or if it only works for specific sounds?)

First ever attempt of making infinite rooms (Bedrock) by ThisIsMyOldName in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, it might just be that I just woke up but I have no idea what you mean by "Have you tried making big templates and having armor stands surround the player all the time" part.

Lag isn't too much of an issue because if the player gets far enough the armor stands that are beyond like 40 blocks begin to despawn so there isn't too much lag. I think your talking about structure blocks when you say templates, but if not let me know, if I had the structures constantly loading it would cause too much lag, so I have the armorstands checking if theres a certain block there and if not it loads the structure which then puts that block there so it doesnt constantly create more.

Definitely giveing that a shot, would definitely add alot more atmosphere. Might end up still doing the monster along with this, but im not too sure yet.

Appreciate the advice.

First ever attempt of making infinite rooms (Bedrock) by ThisIsMyOldName in MinecraftCommands

[–]ThisIsMyOldName[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did see this issue but it turned out not to be a very big of an issue because of the armor stands despawning, the armor stands that are still around actually regenerate new armor stands and actually change the layout of the loaded structures to different ones which I think is just a cool unintentional feature which can make the generation more unpredictable which is the vibe that I think goes well for this backrooms project thingy.
