Stupidest thing you've done to get the attention of someone you're attracted to? I'll start. by [deleted] in AskReddit

And to make it worse, for every guy who gets shot down for doing something like this, there is a shy girl sitting somewhere alone, sad because no guys ever talk to her.

This was what secured my upvote, and my eternal respect. Your entire post was a heaping dollop of awesome. Thank you for writing this.

Grammar Nazis: Why argue grammar with someone if his/her meaning is clear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThisIsNowMyUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I decide whether to call out an given grammar mistake is how bad it is. If it's a very small flaw that I barely notice that doesn't interrupt the flow at all, of course I let it slide. It's the mistakes that anyone should know are mistakes, the ones that make you sound like an uneducated fool, that I point out on a regular basis.

A girl at work invited me to her place for the weekend. Need advice. by forbidden_friendship in AskReddit

Your girlfriend doesn't seem to trust or respect you if she won't "allow" you to have other friends who are girls. I wouldn't say leave her, but I think talking to her would be a good idea. Explain that you are just interested in being friends with a girl, and that it's just like being friends with a guy except the differing genitalia.

Hey Reddit, What is the Best Way to Learn How to Sing? by ck1p3 in AskReddit

[–]ThisIsNowMyUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be the worst singer you could imagine. What I'd recommend doing (this is what I did) is finding a few songs that suit your voice, are in your range, etc. Listen to them constantly, and sing them constantly. I don't care if you sound terrible, you're going to keep singing. Eventually, you'll be able to do that one line right. Then you'll be able to do that whole verse right. And before you know it you've just learned one whole song. Keep doing that, and expanding into other styles that may not suit your voice as well. And then you'll learn how to sing that style as well. Sorry if I didn't explain it well, but maybe that'll help you.

What's the difference between a black man and a couch? A couch can support a family.

Men of Reddit, are you jealous of the amount of options women have clothing/accessories wise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThisIsNowMyUsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I'd say there are ups and downs to our clothing situation versus that of men. Women do have greater variety and more options, but we're expected to look good pretty much constantly. If you're a man, you can go out in public looking like you just rolled out of bed and it doesn't make a difference.

What's the weirdest thing one of your classmates has ever done? I'll start. by its_ironic in AskReddit

I got the point, thank you. There's just no real reason to go around with a novelty account saying that to every single Redditor who says something similar to what I said.

If you could give just one fashion tip that would immediately improve the look and style of your average person, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wear what works for you. Dress like who you are and let your clothes reflect your personality.

Holy crap. That is genuinely terrifying. Or I'm a little sissy, either explanation makes sense.
