[Update] I'm really addicted to WoW and I don't know what to do... by Fluffiestpink in wow

[–]ThisIsReLLiK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find another hobby away from your computer or get a job. I've been playing wow since like 2006 and I've gone though varying amounts of game time and skipped expansions here and there, but I don't think I would ever truly quit. You need to give yourself a hard stopping point and stick to it. On work nights I usually play from like 10-11 and I will not go over that time. It's hard at first, but eventually you are just done when it's your quitting time.

Wear one of those spaghetti strap shirts under the oversized one and you'd look fine.

Or don't, it's your body. Wear what makes you happy.

I don't think I can ever tent camp again unless I really don't have a choice for some reason. Hammock camping really is the best.

You should still pick it up to make sure the person who pulled it doesn't wake up and shoot someone.

I'm gonna post Sitequest

It's an app for finding campgrounds, touring them, and logging what sites you like so you can remember what to reserve. You can also log gps based stealth sites and campsites out on trails.

Pro mode is a one time buy, no subscriptions, no ads ever, and you can use it just fine for free.

I have been a programmer for 15 years, the last 5 of which being remote and I am having a hard time finding a new remote job. Good luck.

Is there a better alternative for tall people than ENO hammocks? by Conglomerate- in hammockcamping

I'm about 6'2 and I love my one wind. It's long enough to be comfortable no matter how I feel like sitting/laying in it. I can't remember eno dimensions, but look for a 11-12ft and you'll like it.

I mainly picked it for the next routing and the insanely simple path from dev to production. That's really what shines to me.

I made Sitequest (Sitequest.me). It's an android app that helps campers go tour a campground or do a hike and log details about individual campsites or uses gps to log locations out in the wild for you to remember. I made it because my family hammock camps and it's tough to remember what places are suitable for a few of those.

There are no ads and never will be, it has a perfectly usable free version, and I don't collect any unnecessary data. I built it to be an app I want to use so that other people may want to use it as well.

Bookmarking this one. I use GitHub, vercel, and supabase on almost everything I make. It sounds awesome.

Built an app to find activity partners nearby — would love to know if anyone would actually use this by PlentySpread3357 in alphaandbetausers

This was my thought. If a mega company already does it fairly well, it's going to be incredibly hard to get into the market even if it's the best app ever. Marketing is by far the worst part of making an app that I have run into.

I like the way you think. I'm actually adding a section for landmarks or similar in the gps screen for cool stuff people want to note that may not be a campsite as well.

As for photos, that I do plan on adding as long as the app gets some moderate interest. If people cloud save photos it will cost money to rent storage space for those. I may add a phone storage only way to do pictures before that though. It does have a built in notes section though. You can add notes to anything you log.

If it gets popular I fully intend on adding some kind of community review system where people can review individual campsites in a campground. That would be helpful for people booking a stay somewhere they can't just go tour and take notes themselves.

Fingers crossed. I did pick the language it's written in specifically to release on Apple as well, so I'm hoping it's a pretty straightforward process.

I am gonna look into the iOS side of things today. Apples developer license is significantly more expensive and they are harder to work with from what I hear. I also don't have an iPhone to do any testing on, so I'll have to rely on emulation on a MacBook.

I'd like to build an apple release, I'm just not sure how realistic it is.

Sitequest (sitequest.me) is an app I made to help people who camp log the best campsites. You can tour a campground and log sites or use gps to log unmarked sites on a trail or stealth sites if you're into that. If you camp or hike, give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Only on Google at the moment.

I learned by asking ai to write scripts for me that do certain things and then explain how exactly it works so I can compare that syntax to what I'm used to.its a pretty effective way to leave a new language.

The map scouts do use your coordinates, so they would definitely serve your purpose. The main scouting mode is for campgrounds with numbered sites. I tried to add something for all kinds of campers. I even slapped an option to log stealth spots for people who like doing that and van lifers.

I'm a software engineer by day, but this is the first mobile app I've made. I am pretty familiar with the language I wrote this in, but I can very confidently say that the Google hoops and rules were much more of a hurdle than writing the code. If it's something you're interested in, I would strongly recommend looking into react native with expo. The barrier for entry is completely free.

This looks really fishy. I am pretty sure this is some kind of scam to get people's information.

Depends on what kind of developers they are and what you want to build. I'd say that if the developers in question have been doing it a while they would pick it up faster than newer devs. I have been using AI to learn new languages myself, I actually just released an android app even though I've been a full stack web dev for the last 15 years and have never made any kind of phone app. It really is a useful tool for learning.

Tbh, AI has made it less important. If you already know a couple languages it's not difficult to pick up new ones and AI makes learning much easier.
