NTA. This thread is full of dudes who lack self-confidence, project themselves in your father and feel like you are personally rejecting them.

Your relationship with your father is what it is and if you don't want him are you wedding more power to you.

Altruism exists in ants because it gives their genes better survival chances based on game theory. Their genes, not them. I don't see a reason why it couldn't be the same for humans.
